Did Blue's tones change in the last year?

It seems many more blues posts are either sarcastic or pointedly direct towards people than there used to be. The also seem a lot more honest and forthcoming with information that can be shared with the community. I have no problem with telling someone they are blatantly wrong when they are or anything like that. It also makes the blues feel a lot more human.

First, am I the only one seeing this?

My main question is why did the style change? When were their hands untied a bit? Was it a consious decision or a lack of maintaining the original rules?

There is probably a direct correlation in level of sarcasm increase linked to when I started posting. =/

I dont mind the change at all.. find it amusing personally

You found something amusing? Get out of here, you do not belong! ;-)

Q u o t e:

Can I blame my increase in sarcasm on you to my wife?

Please?

Sure thing, I support and vote for sarcasm. Sarcasm '09!

I think the dude with the flaming skull might have you beat.

He probably does when he wants to, but he also puts on the serious face more than I do. =p

You missed a particular CM or two, didn't you?

As I stated early in the thread, nothing changed. There's just different Blues around.

They're all people--with different personalities.

Community managers... box of chocolates? We report. You decide.

I think my posting style has pretty much been the same since the game launched.

Q u o t e:
I don't post often, i mostly read. But i noticed the CM's being borderline jerks every once in a while. I don't really like that. On the plus side the CMs and developers also tend to be posting more often in constructive ways. There's been more blue posts explaining nerfs and mechanics changes, or answering questions about upcoming content.

Despite the rise in kinda mean posts, Blizzard has been much, much better about explaining game changes and upcoming content. So I'm happy.

I don't think any of us ever intend to come off mean, but you can't just think of us strictly as Blizzard employees, we're also part of this community. We could be fake and fluffy, but we chose to be real, offer up our thoughts and level with people as best we can. Often times when you level with someone, you're going to tell them things or speak in a manner they might not want to hear.

I've seen some blue posts where they were just flaming the poster like everyone else in the thread.

I saved the links to the thread because I thought they were so rediculous. Ill be back later with a link

Man, I just know they are all gonna be of me...

I'm surprised there isn't a shared blue avatar for flaming people anonymously while retaining the blue tag.

Oh, there is -- it's this one. There are over 400 employees that use it. My name is Alvan, and I work in finance.

Steve from marketing can't use the Eyonix avatar anymore. He's the one that posted in the pictures Citychicken is going to post later.

It's pretty funny someone would actually save screenshots of things CMs say they don't like, as if they're going to blackmail Blizzard or something. I mean, really, who is worse off - the CMs working and having some fun at their job rather thanbeing walking corporate robots; Or the guy stalking them saving screenshots of what they say hoping he can use them to enact some terrible revenge through his anonymous online persona.

Coming soon to a theatre near you: I Know What You Posted Last Summer. This time it's personal.

I think I need a safe word. Something I can post on the boards if I need help, that you will all know.

well nobody can make any real assumptions with why the behavior changed.

What I wrote is just a guess on why CM behavior has changed so drastically, since it's pretty solid that it is not of natural cause.

Wait, are you suggesting that our drastic change in behavior is a result of supernatural conditions? I have been feeling stronger lately and this morning when I was driving to work a bird landed on my hood. I had this funny feeling, and I know it sounds odd but it was like I was reading her mind and that she wanted my help in protecting her eggs. I followed her to a nest and we stared at each other.

I couldn't be sure, and they are now here under my seat. I'm really hoping nobody notices.

Something to compliment his yellow sunglasses.

Err, I mean, he doesn't exist.

Hey, those aren't sunglasses!

if they choose different sunglasses they better get
light pink shades with diamond sparkles on the sides!
glitterrrrrrrrr

I don't know that those would compliment me well, or they'd compliment me too well and I'd be a little bummed about it.
