edit: didnt mean to "mislead" anyone. i originally posted an empty test thread to see if it would let me post (bug yesterday wouldn let me). i did not anticipate a blue response at all. this was not bait. i cant be more clear about that.

aaanyways... please hear me out before dumping hate all over the place.

if you are an anti flyer, i understand your point of view, & get this, i dont think you are wrong. flying does more or less trivialize a lot of overworld content. i also dont mind waiting for 6.1 to fly, draenor is still fresh after all.

the problem is that if they allow flying, the best argument you have is that you would feel pressured to fly in order to remain competative. you still have a choice though. if they dont allow flying, pro flyers dont get a choice.

if you really do enjoy the game more from the ground, you can stay there if its what you really want. you may be at a disadvantage in some cases, but if you are truly competative then you must realize that in order to remain so, you will almost never be able to do everything the way you want. if you want to be first at something, you have no choice but to take the optimal path. its a trade off.

unfortunately for those of us that want to fly, there is no choice, there is no tradeoff. we are quite literally forced to remain grounded. i understand that you may want more player interaction in the world & thats fine, wow is a social game after all. the wrong way to go about creating this opportunity to interact is by forcing some of us into it.

on a side note, i understand the trivialization of world treasures as a valid point. we should have to reach them as intended (at least while its still 'fresh content'); however none of the treasure is necessary for competative progression, & if they wait til 6.1 to add flying, it will all be old news anyway. if you really want treasure hunting to remain challenging after its no longer new, you can certainly choose to reach it as it was intended: sans flying. whether or not other people bypass that after its not new anymore doesnt affect anyone else & you really shouldnt let it bother you.
