Reposting this in it's own thread rather than the Shiv Build thread so it can get some more eyeballs.
Q u o t e:
The HfB glyph is, if I recall correctly, just a flat 3% to the ability and doesn't mention stacks.
So now it's EIGHTEEN percent damage for pushing a button every 30 seconds and spending one talent point?
Earlier today you said this:
Q u o t e:
4) Fury does too much damage as a result, and Titan's Grip becomes the new talent by which all others are measured. ("Man, my 51 talent doesn't increase my dps by over 10% a point.")
Quite frankly, Titan's Grip may be flashier, but it doesn't strike me as anywhere NEAR as overpowered for Hunger For Blood at this point. Honestly, you might as well just rename it "PvE" and the tooltip to You do x% more damage where X = the percentage that will catch you up to the Mages Hunters and Warlocks.
On the one hand, I'm thankful that you guys are taking a hard look at Rogue DPS and understand it's kind of low, but on the other hand, doing it ALL with HfB feels uninspired, is only going to cause scaling/balance problems down the line, and really takes out a lot of the fun of the assasination tree.
I like 3 stack HfB because it has a penalty for failure, which can be mitigated through good play ( a well executed Vanish->restack), that encourages attention and focus. I can also understand why it was reduced to 1 stack, as a QOL change for situations when a rogue is CC'd and can't maintain a stack - but it's still Pres Butan Every 30 Seconds for Moar Dmg. Which is still pretty sad tbqh - requiring a bleed just means that we'll demand a Fury Warrior, MM Hunter, or Feral Druid be in our group so we don't need to watch it ourselves.
I guess what it boils down to GC, is why do all the DPS balancing here, rather than through some of the other underwhelming talents further down the tree? Master Poisoner seems like a strong candidate as it's 'secondary effect' is largely useless compared to Savage Combat over in the Combat tree (or indeed, most other raid buff/debuff talents), and is largely why we choose Turn the Tables over it (which is also admittedly pretty weak. Both have the same advantage as HFB of being essentially out of reach of a good Mut/Prep build, and both are taken out of a grudging sense that there isn't anything better to take to get to Cut to the Chase.
Edit: oh, and thanks for the new FoK animation. It's HOT.
