Why do players need to be max to Dual Spec?

Ghostcrawler: We didn’t want to burden lower-level players with extra complexity as they’re working to level up and learn their class. But if the feature proves popular we might consider expanding it.

GC, while I understand your basic concern about overwhelming a new player I disagree with your point because its taken to the extreme.

My proposal:

Enable the dual spec feature as of level 20 or at most, level 30.

Justification:

1) By the time players reach 20 or 30 they should start to have a basic understanding of their class and should be ready to take on more then 1 tree. Thus they will not be "burdened" with this feature.

2) Its near IMPOSSIBLE to find a group for any instances pre level 60 due to tank / healer shortages . When groups start forming we have pally's / warrior's / druids who are not specced to tank, priests / shamans / druids not specced to heal. Group eventually dissipates. When leveling my latest toon (mage which is now 50), there were times where I went to LFG for instances 4 consecutive evenings (about 3 hours play in each) with no proper group found.

3) When I first heard of dual speccing, I was convinced that dual speccing was being introduced specifically to remedy group issue's with instances for characters that are leveling. This was the expectation of quite a large portion of the playerbase.

4) Introducing dual speccing as of level 20-30 will ENCOURAGE people to roll more alts, since group instances would be much more joinable - hence they will be more immersed in the game overall. I for one was REALLY looking forward to the dual spec feature which would make it easier and more fun to level my other alts.

5) By allowing dual spec relatively early on, people would be able to learn more about their class prior to reaching max level. I for one would love to have tried being a holy priest during instances to get a better feel of my class while leveling.

With the current stance, I am quite dissapointed. Please reconsider - introduce dual speccing as of level 20-30.

EDIT: The statement in the beggining of this OP is not final as per GC's comment below.

OT what are your thoughts on this?

I posted in another thread that we have made several changes to the dual spec feature since that interview. While we aren't ready to discuss all of the changes yet, the level at which you can access the feature is still on the table.
