Whats the real reason behind no AQ40 mounts

Is there some sort of coding problem that would be a large undertaking to solve?
Like buggy old school written code that doesnt jive with the way mounts work now?

Or is it that the current developers had an inter office fight with the aq40 developers and its political?

Because your explanation of oyu current stance on why there are no bug mounts makes as much sense as...a mekengineers chopper does

We are happy leaving them as they are now, which is how they were initially made way back when.

but why? it makes no sense

they count toward the mount achievement, why the refusal?

I can't imagine its to keep people FROM doing aq40, you want people to see content that maybe havent had the chance

i can't imagine its because theyre not int he wow universe, where we have copters and rockets and motor bikes and flying booms and reindeer

I could only think of politics or buggy code , pardon the pun

if you gave a better answer, people wouldnt ask or wonder so much

They were never intended to be mounts used in the outside world aside from the Black Scarab Lord one and so far we don't see a reason to change this. They do count toward the mount achievement so enjoy some free mounts as you pile them up to 100, or 101 really.

Taurens were never meant to ride mounts other than kodos and only gnomes were meant to ride the robochickens....

It just seems like an outdated philosophy to keep the AQ bugs limited to only AQ.

I would argue that block players from using 1 special mount is quite different from blocking specific races from using 5 to 20 different mounts. The AQ mounts are fine in their little sand pit and we are adding new mounts to the game to use.

Which means your too lazy to go back and do something nice for players who really loved the second best raid ever made for WoW. It amazes me you will change the mechanic for opening clams, but not change a restriction on a mount. Which in the terms of actual coding is the same, probably less work on the mount part.

On a related note. Bornakk has never made a non troll post. Need to change your icon there buddy. Orcs are honorrable and trolls well....they're like you.

We're fine with it the way it is right now. That isn't to say it won't change in the future, anything can change, but we don't feel they need to change right now.

Oh and /troll QQ

Fact. The mounts are not being changed due to lazy devs.

Fact. It has nothing to do with being lazy, simply that we don't feel it needs to be changed. Players often equate laziness to game design decisions that disagree with what they want. This is incorrect. Fact.

Hmm the "we" so...Bornakk has a say in game design? Sounds like a dev to me. Well, I'm done at work, enough of arguing with bumbling fools when I'm wasting my own time.

As Community Managers we are the representatives of Blizzard Entertainment on the forums so we speak for the company and since we are part of the company it forms a "we". If we started saying "I" then it would seem like Blizzard is a separate entity from the CMs which is not the case.

BORNAKK

Why do you have to be so awesomely surly? I think I'm falling in love with you, and that's not a good thing (I bite)

Get in line. ;-)

Q u o t e:

In a game world with cities filled to overflowing with wooly mammoth mounts (among others), I'd appreciate the added diversity of the bug mounts. If nothing else, they're a bit smaller and less likely to clog up my screen while retaining that inevitable "Hey look at me I'm cool!" factor that attracts people to the existing too-huge ones. :)

Basically, I get the reason for yall not changing it, but I really wish you'd reconsider. Fact. ;)

Fair enough, we'll see what the future brings. :)

It must get creepy when you CMs get married:

Q: "Do you, Bornakk, promise to love, honor, blah blah blah..."

A: "We Do."

Eventually they understand us.
