Why was that thread locked?

If you're going to lock threads, you should at least post why you're locking them. I just saw one that asked some valid questions. They were not, perhaps, appropriate for the DPS forums, however, the thread could have been banished . . . er . . . MOVED to the general forums, or something of that nature.

The thread was not insulting, nor did it break any of the forum rules other than the title, which was "Hey GC", however, I've noticed forum moderators change titles before, move threads, etc.

The censorship on these forums is becoming ridiculous. There are better ways to deal with controversial issues than merely locking the thread without explanation, banning the posters, and changing the rules of posting to make it easier to do so. People who have played this game, who have made WoW their primary hobby, are frustrated and getting angrier as more and more time passes without any indication that their concerns are being addressed.

EDIT: How can a "reasonable number of people" become confused, if everytime we post something it's locked?

Forum moderation is never a topic we're going to win. A big chunk of the player base is going to think we should be more draconian and a big chunk is going to cry censorship.

For that reason, we strongly suggest you don't use these forums to discuss how we should run our fourms. If a reasonable number of players really seem to be become confused about what we are trying to accomplish, we'll be sure to clear it up.
