You would think that there must be some greater force at work out there wouldn't you? Hrmmmm... The universe has some interesting complexities to it and many mysteries.

Interestingly enough in Issue #15 of the World of Warcraft comic, there is an undead mage so powerful that he survives after death "by the strength of his own sorcery and will. " He wasn't transformed by Ner'zhul's plague.
