Dual Spec and Lexicon of Power

There are my 2 cent about Dual Spec requiring Lexicon of Power.I find it stupid to require a Lexicon of Power, wasnt the point of Dual Spec to make it easier to switch spec between raids, dailies and arena? When you are done with Arenas, yes the system is convenient, but going to raids after dailies make it bad to go to a city.

I know you can summon a Lexicon of Power. But IF it's a one time reagent, people like me will OFTEN forget it and make the WHOLE RAID wait for them.

In my opinion dual spec should use a reagent, but a reagent you can stack like to 100 and not in your bag,it should go in the currency tab,the reagent should also be usable alone, for the time where mobs maybe harder in your healing spec and you are far away from a town.

Side Note:1 Hour Cooldown Hearthstone is not very convenient,on my shaman I'm happy to have Astral Recall,it make using AH,Trainers and all things only found in Old World Capital Cities easier to use while having a fast way back to Dalaran. The cooldown should be cut in half.

The goal was never to allow players to switch specializations on a whim. Having a specific talent set-up should still mean something. Our goal with this system is two-fold:

1) Allow players to switch to a secondary preferred spec/glyph set-up without having to go through the process of re-specializing, setting up action bars, purchasing new glyphs, etc.

2) Allow raid groups more flexibility by giving individuals the option of flipping to a secondary skill set to accommodate the group.

Yes, it will mean there is another reagent players have to bring. We're expecting this feature to be extremely popular though, and I seriously doubt you're going to find yourself with nine to twenty-four other people who have all forgotten to bring Lexicons of Power to the raid.

how about let under 80 people duel spec?

We've said the consideration is there, though not likely for 3.1. I do not have additional information at this point.

Interesting.

Ok, then explain why you've ALREADY made the decision that it's not most likely coming this patch yet we're still discussing it and pretty much everyone hates it?

It's not fun explaining things to someone who likes to say they speak for everyone, and calls us selfish for designing things according to our vision. Have you tried that?

Some things are already set in motion. It's not as easy as you might think to add such functionality to a system well into development.

It's being considered. That's the answer.

There's dozen threads each with a ton of pages that have had extremely good reasons to do this.

There just isn't a way to get me to give you a more concrete answer that I ultimately cannot provide. I do not have power over this decision, and when it comes down to it, WoW isn't developed democratically. We're adding this feature because we think players want it, and we think it's better for the game. We'll always do what we think is best for the game, and, accordingly, that may or may not include dual specialization for low-level characters.

It sounds as if you're implying you don't need to actually be a scribe to summon the Lexicon of Power. Is this correct?

This is correct.

Quote from the Q&A with Ghostcrawler:

Anyone can purchase this item, but it requires a ritual of several players to summon it for use by the party. It’s similar to a repair bot in that it will exist in the world for a short duration. It’s important to keep in mind that you will not be able to switch specs while in combat or Arenas. While you won’t be able to switch your spec without the Lexicon, you will still be able to look at your secondary spec whenever you want to.
