I'm going to be buying WOTLK today, and was wondering if I'll be able to grant the levels that my DK would be earning from 55 to 60 to a lower level char on my recruiters account like any other char?

Or is the DK excluded from the level granting policy?

Aronbane is correct, Arrii. For every two levels a Death Knight may gain, one "grantable" level will be awarded; these levels may then be granted to any qualifying characters on a veteran account.

Standard rules for Death Knight creation will apply:

And standard restrictions for level granting will be in effect, as well:

Q u o t e:
How do I grant levels?

Right-click the target's portrait and select "Grant A Level."

Note: Recruit and veteran players must be partied and within 100 yards.

Q u o t e:
Are there are any restrictions on granting levels?

Yes: 1) Levels may only be granted to characters on a veteran account by characters on a linked recruit account; 2) levels may only be granted to characters of the same faction and on the same realm; 3) levels may not be granted to characters over level 59; and 4) levels may not be granted to characters of equal or higher level.

As characters must be partied and within 100 yards, your Death Knight will need to first complete the entirety of the Scarlet Enclave. This will place be it and your target veteran character in the appropriate phase. :)
