Bag of Candy is bugged, please fix

this item is not dropping. I have cycled 6 chars per hour for 18 hours, 1 40, 1 60, 4 80s. got 2 bags on the 40 early on, nothing since, I want the bags on my main obviously but using the other chars as a sample. This drop rate is extremely broken.

MY guildmate who saved 4 bags from last year got the achievement from 4 bags, not 1 but 4. I have yet to get 1 bag in 36 hours of time, there is only 84 hours left. If I cant get 1 bag in 36 hours, how am i supposed to get 4 in 84?

Fix this plz before I grow depressed by missing my only chance at a speed mount since i dont do hardcore raiding or hardcore pvp and decide to cancel my account.

The Bag of Candy is working properly.

It's working - It's just not dropping with any great frequency (if at all for some of us who have been farming Gifts / Pledges for over 40 hours.)

Seriously Blizz - Up the drop rate or at least give us a means of earning this achievement other than lottery!

The drop rate is something that could arguably be improved, but altogether removing the "lottery" factor is a different matter entirely. I don't think it's controversial for me to assert that holiday participation is not difficult. That said, there has to be a limiting factor. A lot of people seem to expect to be flying around on a free mount for taking part in the holidays. We don't share those expectations. Unless one would prefer major gold or profession sinks on holidays, or the need to visit 9,000 elder-type characters around the world every holiday, RNG is going to play a limiting factor on this achievement.

According to scans I've done on the armory, alliance with "The Love Fool " out number horde 10 : 1. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the drop rate?

This data isn't actually indicative of anything regarding a difference in drop rate between Horde and Alliance.

Oh, it's working properly, alright. Could it drop at a reasonable rate, though? Pretty please?

There is some consideration for increasing the drop rate, though there are not plans at this time to remove the chance element entirely.

Judging from the responses here, most people DON'T like RNG, and would far rather get an achievement for putting effort into the game.

But just ignore that and instead talk about making the luck just a LITTLE less luck based.

Thanks for that.

I think the point is that removing chance from the equation entirely would mean the new requirements would be absolutely ridiculous in order to limit the amount of players receiving the drake. This may sound more appealing. You may find the chance factor absolutely ridiculous, but I'd wager that the amount of criticism over the requirements would be no less.

When are you guys going to learn that putting LUCK as the limiting factor is ridiculous. Give us something we have to WORK towards, and we'll be happy. But leaving it to luck just means those who actually DO work towards an achievement are left in the cold compared to the guy that got lucky on his first try.

There are multiple chance factors for getting the drake. To say one person who gets the drake was lucky and less-deserving than someone who did not requires you to assume the person with the drake put less effort into it. It's possible for someone to be lucky across the board with the meta achievement I guess, just not likely.

Why limit people from getting a drake?

It's a meta achievement and a rare drake. Not everyone should have it. In fact, few should.

Q u o t e:
You put the drake on the achievement as a reward. We're telling you we're willing to work for it.

We're saying, "good luck!"

I, and I know of many others would not be complaining about RNG screwing people around, IF Blizzard didn't have a well established history of removing achievements from their meta requirements for the SOLE reason of because the concept of very low RNG was stupid as a limiter.

You raise a good point.

And you continue jerking us around, agreeing with what is posted after vehemently defending a contrary position.

That's not really a necessary attitude. I'll attempt to explain our stance on such matters, but that doesn't mean I'm incapable of processing reasoned retorts. The more frustration and anger that comes out of one's posts, the less I'm inclined to regard what they're saying as reasonable.

Zarhym, will you please respond to the original question this thread had. Is there something wrong with its drop rate.

Forget the overall thought of the fairness of things.

IS THE DROP RATE BUGGED? WHY ARE DRESSES MORE EASY TO GET THAN CANDY?

It's not bugged but it's probably too low. Some may not see the distinction, but there is one.

We're actively looking into this.

Edit: I'm unable to provide drop rates.

See, in this simple post, you've massively reduced the amount of frustration of a good portion of your playerbase... THIS is the sort of posts you need to do a lot faster in future.

Thanks.

I never stop learning. This is on-the-job training at its best. ^.^

But if the issue gets resolved and you end up helping all these people won't it bean achievement for you?

[Zarhym] has earned the achievement [Helped Fix a Problem for Customers]

As long as my boss flips 30 coins in a row which, if they all land heads, I get a raise.
