Blizzard Post
Hello,

About a week and a half ago i sent a money order to blizzard for the retrieval of one of my accounts.
Sometime today i received two emails from blizzard;

3:09pm -

A request for a new password for this World of Warcraft Account has been received. Please follow this link to choose your new password:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/loginsupport/confirmPassword.html?cid= <removed>

Be sure to use a brand new password and not one you have previously used.

Please note that this link is valid for a single use and will expire after 72 hours if not used. If this link does not work, please resubmit your request for a new password.

For the continued security of the account, we recommend that you take the following steps prior to logging in to your account:

- Scan the computer system you are using to remove all viruses, Trojan files, and key loggers.

- Log in to your Account Management page at https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account

- Verify that your contact information is accurate and update it if necessary.

- If you would like to add additional security to your account, you can visit this link (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/24660) to find out more information about the Blizzard Authenticator.

- Maintain safe Internet practices and safeguard all World of Warcraft account information for the most secure gaming experience.

Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment!

and then at 3:17pm -

This is a notice that the email address on your World of Warcraft account <removed> has been changed. If you did not request this change please fill out our Account Security/Compromise webform at http://us.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml.

If this change was intended please disregard this notice.

Thank you.

I don't understand what this is about. Was the first one meant to be to get a new password and let me know my account was playable again? Then the second one says the accounts email address has been changed from mine, without a confirmation email or anything?

I followed the link in the first email, and it let me change my password. Then i tried logging into my account only to find out ''This account has been closed and can no longer be used for playing.''

- I've received no emails saying they've received my money order or anything like that.

I'd just like to find out what's going on here if a blizz rep could possibly give me some info.

The account is [removed]

Thanks in advance :)

It does not yet appear that the money order you sent has been processed, Nazgül. Furthermore, it seems that the password retrievals you have mentioned are originating from the Login Support page, and were not initiated by our Billing or Account Administration Departments. As such, I suggest reviewing the following thread to ensure your computer's security:

Regrettably, I am unable to verify if your money order has been received, but I can tell you it has not been processed. Furthermore, It seems that registered e-mail address was also changed using the login support page, Nazgul. Billing will be happy to assist you with this issue as well as any questions regarding your chargeback.

Give them a call during normal business hours, friend.
