Gave 7000g Away on Accident.

I was in Elwynn forest and I seen a level 1 Human Warrior and I was following him I invited him to group and he accepted instantaneously so I thought he was a bot and was going to spam and I thought it was funny. I was going to put raid icons on his head. Anyways I followed him and tried talking he never responded as expected and he went into the stormwind bank. I opened trade and put in all my money to tease him and I went to hit cancel and I hit ok and before I could even press esc he hit accept. It was less than a second response.

I am so scared. The money was from my friend as a loan for epic flyer and to level professions. I don't even remember the guys name, I don't know if he was a chinese farmer because they normally don't respond to anything. What do I do?

You can ask the person for the gold back, Puppie, but we are unable to remove it from the character. Once traded that gold is theirs.

Clicking accept when someone walks up and hands you gold isn't a scam, Betty. There was no trade of services just one person offering gold to another, no deal was made.

Yours on the other hand may be considered a scam based on an agreement that you made. I should remind you that trading in-game gold (virtual property) for a CD key (real world property) is against our Terms of Use. Our Character Specialists will investigate the matter and take all appropriate actions but in any case we can not guarantee the restoration of any gold or items.

The code is for a virtual item, so trading virtual for virtual isn't much of an issue. Even in these cases we state that although we do not currently prohibit such a trade we also do not support it and if something goes wrong we may not be able to assist in the matter.

A CD key for a game can only be used in the Real World, it is not a virtual item by any definition.
