How old is this server? I am thinking about taking the transfer.

Is there a place I can get a list of server ages? Like population horde vs. alliance, and age of the server, etc.

As Silversky said though for a list of realm release dates you'll have to look at a third party site as we don't have that information listed to the public and the population numbers on some of those sights have been grossly incorrect at times.
