Only recruit characters may grant levels, Bubblly. As your account was the one referred, your characters are welcome to grant levels; however, they may not receive them.

Q u o t e:
Are there are any restrictions on granting levels?

Yes: 1) Levels may only be granted to characters on a veteran account by characters on a linked recruit account; 2) levels may only be granted to characters of the same faction and on the same realm; 3) levels may not be granted to characters over level 59; and 4) levels may not be granted to characters of equal or higher level.

Regrettably, we will be unable to redistribute those levels granted, my friend. Perhaps you and your friend can begin leveling up another set of characters; with triple experience, you two should be able to reach your level 29 and/or his level 57 in no time.

Good luck. :)

He is on the vent. account, I am the recruit.

Correct. Only his characters may receive levels; yours may not.

As your level 80 no longer possesses any levels to grant, Bubblly, this would not be possible.

To break it down, though: For every two levels a character on your account gains while linked, that character will earn one "grantable" level. Only that character will earn the level, and only that character may use (grant) its "grantable" levels.

Example time (I'll draw from your stipulated situation):
Q u o t e:
vet account(Not me) Makes a level 1 Call this char-a1, I make a level 1 toon, call this char-a2. We get both to level 5. I get my main, give Chara1 5 levels. We then both make new toons charb1, charb2. Get both to 5. I then get on my 80 and give Chara1 5 more levels?

Let's take use your level 4 Paladin, Omfgwtfbbqqk. It presently possesses 2 "grantable" levels. Should this character reach level 60, it will possess 30 "grantable" levels (provided that none of those levels are granted prior to this point).

Going off this hypothetical, if both you and your veteran create new characters and level each up to 5, you could then log into your Paladin and grant the level 5 veteran character (char-a1) 5 levels. Your lower level character (char-a2) would be level 5, your veteran character would be level 10 (char-a1). Your lower level character (char-a2) would possess 2 "grantable" levels, and your Paladin would possess 25 "grantable" levels (30 - 5).

If you both you and your veteran then create two new characters and level up to 5, you could then log into your Paladin and do the same as before: you could grant the first level 5 veteran character (char-a1) 5 levels. Your second lower level character (char-b2) would be level 5, your first lower level character (char-a2) would be level 5, your first veteran character (char-a1) would be level 15, and your second veteran character (char-b1) would be level 5. Your first lower level character (char-a2) would possess 2 "grantable" levels, your second lower level character (char-b2) would possess 2 "grantable" levels, and your Paladin would possess 20 "grantable" levels (30 -5 - 5).

Then again, you could just cut to the chase, and grant all 30 "grantable" levels to first veteran character (char-a1) from the get go. You are welcome to level "char-a1" from 1 to 31 immediately; or, you could wait until this character is level 30 and level it all the way up to 60. Again, this is using your Paladin's (Omfgwtfbbqqk) hypothetical "grantable" levels should it hit 60.

All level granting restrictions must be met, of course.

*deep breath*

Does that make sense? :)

Q u o t e:
My friend (who has the Vet account) will be inactive until he finishes his last semester. He plans to activate it in about 2 months so i can grant him the levels i earn while i level my toon.

My question is if, during the period his account is inactive, will the levels i gain grant me levels to apply to his toon?

In other words,

My toon is level 20 so i can grant him 9 levels. Say his account goes inactive while i level to 60. Will i still be able to grant him 29 levels when he activates his account later?

If it's before they expire (90 day window), yes. If it's outside that expiration period they won't be grantable at all.
