Q u o t e:
The Logitech G-series keyboards and mice were ALSO at Blizzcon, the previous year, and have long seen support from WoW.
However, such peripherals are also meant to function outside the world of warcraft for a variety of gaming needs.
The policies established for WoW are that using peripherals that automate gameplay violate their terms of use.
If you want to execute an action, and then immediately after, execute another action, then you must Click for action one, and Click for action 2. You are not allowed to click once, and have a macro automatically execute the next action without additional input from you.
Q u o t e:
That's actually how I'd expect it to function. That's how the G15 macros function as well. What was your expectation?
As far as the original question, just because time delay macros aren't allowed in WoW doesn't mean that the feature should be removed from a Blizzard-licensed version of the product, especially since there are many other games (especially single-player games) that have no issues with timed macros. If I had that mouse I could set a timed macro to hit my Melee key in TES IV: Oblivion in time with the weapon swing speed to maximize my melee attacks, and why should a gaming mouse lack that feature just because the sponsoring game disallows it?
Well stated guys.
To my knowledge, our policies on the subject haven't changed, and I do not expect that any of the built-in, default World of Warcraft based functionality in that peripheral violates those policies. Merely because the functionality exists, though, doesn't make using the device, in and of itself, a violation.
As you already seem familiar with our policies on the subject, I won't link the the threads from our compendium. Was there a particular button or default function you were concerned about though? Unlike the G series of peripherals, I haven't had any personal experience with this mouse in particular.
