From our service status forum

All US realms will be undergoing Emergency Maintenance to resolve current In-Game issues at 5:00am PST (Pacific Standard Time). Downtime is expected to be approximately 2-4 hours. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve these issues.

Guys, there is no need for this.

As everyone knows there have been issues, this is to fix at least some of them.

Folks, please don't make me turn this thread around and take us home.

Cause ya know I'll do it.

Q u o t e:

What does that have to do with the post you quoted?

Orlyia, thought. Is it just the realms going down, not the webservices too?

As far as I know, webservices shouldn't be included, but there are times when it's a secondary thing and it may happen. Since realms will be down, naturally things like transfers probably WILL be included.

Right, Blizz didn't give anybody two days of play time for the down time just before the expac came out.

You keep claiming the LAST time, that wasn't the last time.

Thanks for proving my point that Blizz has issues pushing stable patches to production.

Are we going to fix things as quickly as possible, yes.

Does that sometimes require taking the realms offline for a bit, yes.

Did you have a question?

Yes I do; where's my compensation.

When will I be getting that compensation?

You'd want to take that up over on the Suggestion Forum.

Why would I; I am a customer complaining about bad performance from the company that this customer service department is part of. If I had a complaint regarding my experience at Walmart I wouldn't go to the shoe dept; I would go to "Customer Service" first to file a complaint. From there I would ask to speak with a Salaried member of Management.

So then . . .

I would like to speak with a salaried member of management please.

You asked specifically about compensation.

Game Masters have no control over that, the people that read the Suggestion Forums do.

Good morning, all.

I frequently have to make a post in which I state that it's perfectly acceptable for players to be frustrated by an interruption in their service and gameplay. It looks like I need to make a similar post once again.

It is okay to express your frustration; trust me, we completely understand how frustrating it can be when you are unable to play. With that being said, however, we ask that all players handle themselves civilly and be mindful of their fellow posters. We humbly request that you keep the following points in mind:
  • Refrain from using obscene, vulgar or inappropriate language (masked or otherwise).
  • Do not create multiple threads; keep discussion of this issue isolated to this thread.
  • Avoid telling people how they should feel and let them express their frustrations if necessary.
  • Requests for compensation and/or changes to the maintenance process should be posted on the Suggestions Forum.

Please keep in mind that while we may be unable to provide in-depth technical information or insight into development decisions, we -- the Representatives of the Customer Service Forum -- will do whatever possible to bring you the latest information regarding this maintenance period.

I appreciate the patience and understanding you all have demonstrated thus far, and sincerely hope to see you all in game as soon as possible.

TBH cant you just tell us if your going to extend the maintenance soon instead of letting us think @ the 4hr mark we can play?

As far as I am aware, Burninhatred, maintenance is not currently expected to be extended past the four hour mark. I will be sure to let you know if I hear otherwise.

Aredek what exactly are you guys doing with the mainteance? Fixing the Arenas? Also, are you taking away our honor and marks by rolling back? I have done alot of pvp since the problems and was wondering if you were setting us back. Your reply would be appreciated! Thanks alot for trying to help us by getting these problems taken care of.

A number of issues are being addressed during this downtime, Nuks; arenas just happen to be the largest of all. As far as I am aware, honor and marks earned over the course of this week will be unaffected by this maintenance period. Arena ratings and items purchased over the course of the past week, however, may be affected as has been mentioned here:

You have my sincerest apologies for the delays, everyone. Our Quality Assurance Team is working with our Realm Technicians to bring the realms up as quickly as possible. I'm afraid that we do not have an exact ETA to provide at this time, but we are attempting to bring the realms online as soon as possible.

I'll be sure to let you know if any more information becomes available, folks.
