After Wintergrasp crash I logged back in and have lost all my training, mounts, skills and everything. I still have my gear and gold but everything else is blanked. Talent tree is reset as well.

Hrm, I just took a look at your character, Invisidude, and from this end it looks like all your skills and mounts should be intact.

I suspect that this may be related to a UI issue or client-side latency making it appear that your skills are missing when they aren't. While the causes are hazy, it doesn't at this point appear as though anything is actually missing.

My apologies, the prob is on my other tune, invisidruid on same realm. I just spent 1300 gold relearning skills, but my epic and cold weather flight training is gone(as is my 1300 gold from retraining). All my mounts are gone as well. I don't even have a pets tab anymore.

Ah, I see! I'm sorry about that!

Please pardon me while I investigate.

I've seen this as well.

I believe we're aware of these issues, but in the meantime, I'd like to see if a full user interface reset helps. Before you institute this process, it's probably best to save your Addons folder in a separate location, then perform the steps exactly as they're printed. Then, please refrain from restoring your Addons until after you've tested the issue at hand. Here are those steps:

Q u o t e:

1) *IMPORTANT* Exit the World of Warcraft to your desktop by logging out of the game and exiting. If World of Warcraft isn't closed, then these steps won't have the desired effect.

2) If you used an "installer" for a custom UI, see if it has an "uninstaller" and use it.

3) Inside the World of Warcraft Program Folder, delete the "WTF," "Cache," and "Interface" folders.

4) Restart your computer.

5) Please do not reinstall Addons prior to testing the issue you were experiencing.

6) Make sure that you are using WOW.EXE or LAUNCHER.EXE to start the game. Please do not run any UI installers beforehand, as we want to eliminate them as part of the issue.

7) Upon launching the game, you should see the Intro cinematic movie and be prompted to agree to the Terms of Use. Once you authenticate past the login screen, the “AddOns” button should no longer be visible at the lower left corner of the character selection screen. Both points mentioned previously must hold true if you should complete the aforementioned steps correctly.

That is most unfortunate news. This issue is still very much in the process of investigation, and should I receive any information I'll provide it to you as soon as possible.

Okay guys,

For now, please submit an in-game petition stating that you seem to be missing your spells. Please make it clear that you've already performed a full User Interface reset, and that this has been confirmed that this does not currently appear to be a display error.

Feel free to reference this Customer Service forum thread when doing so.

I deeply apologize for any frustration this might be causing, and I wish you all luck on a swift resolution. Should any new information come to light, I'll do my utmost to provide it as swiftly as I can.

/cackle

it has to be REALLY clear ... I reported an issue recently ( the achievements quest resetting to zero issue) that I thought I had made it clear that I had already deleted WTF, Cache and Interface (well not really I had renamed them but for expedience saying deleted should have got the message across) .. and guess what, I got the macroed email back saying

"we believe it to be a display issue" ... " please .." do the UI reset triostomy !

so yes .. MAKE IT CLEAR ... may be say it twice to be sure .. to be sure ...

But only do this if you've already actually tried the resolution using the proper instructions. There are many cases where this will help, even if that does not appear to be the situation here.

Hey guys,

I'm getting reports that some players are seeing their skills 'refresh' after some time spent in-game. Usually after 15-30 minutes. Can you confirm if this is the case for you, and report the results in this thread?

It would be helpful if you reported the name and realm of your affected character.

This is still being actively investigated, and we'll provide any additional updates should they become available.

Please note that those that are experiencing this issue aren't necessarily missing currency, items, or characters. That is almost certainly a different issue.

The focus of this investigation is on those that are missing spells, pets, mounts and the like.

bump

can we please have an update asap? should we go ahead and spend thousands of gold on spells and mounts again or wait and expect for our characters to be restored?

I would not recommend that Korrik.

Our folks are still looking into this, hopefully we'll have a bit more information to pass along before too long.

In the meantime, resetting of UI is recommended, just to rule that out. If it's the issue that's being investigated it's not likely to produce the desired results, but there is a chance it IS a UI issue and could resolve this for you.

Then placing an ingame petition. I added you to the list yesterday Korrik, but a petition wouldn't hurt if you haven't submitted one.

Q u o t e:

I plced an ingame petition yesterday after a d/c where I lost the skill points I had just earned, but retained what I had made. the GM that contacted me (well, sent an email) advised me that there was nothing that would be done about it.

I knew something was off because when I logged in after the d/c, I was back to where I had logged in 15 minutes previously.

That's a bit different situation, Kes. These folks lost skills, not skillpoints.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you were caught in a roll-back and we normally cannot restore skill gain in a situation like that.

*Lures Malkorix with some catnip* :)

Any chance you have any information on this please? I still cant find any information on this being worked on besides Korriks post :(.

Anyhow if you have any information thatd be awesome!

Unfortunately, I don't have anything new to report.

For those whose losses appear 'permanent', please submit an in-game petition including the information I reported earlier - your information should be submitted for further investigation, though restoration isn't guaranteed =/.

We are definitely investigating this intently at the moment, and I deeply apologize to those of you who have been affected.
