Hotfixes

and likely my last.

Let's talk about hotfixes.

Warlock Pet Health - Wow, within hours of the patch, you were able to 1) see feedback from warlock on the damage forums, 2) respond that the issue should have been addressed in the patch, 3) see from responses that it wasn't, and 4) push a hotfix within 4 hours of initially responding to feedback. Masterful, and that is not sarcasm.

Majestic Figurine - you've told us you plan on hotfixing it at somepoint, thanks, at least its information.

Glyph of Holy Light - OK, glad you were able to do this immediately without any coding problems or technical limitations.

Misery dmg bug - Yes, this was a game breaking bug because it was pushing dps to almost twice what should be expected from shadow priests. It was hotfixed shortly after being identified.

But what about....

Rapture - Broken since 3.0 was pushed. Worked on the most recent PTR, so obviously there are no technical limitations involved and programmers knew the coding to fix it, so why is there no hotfix, yet?

PW:Shield on Druids - Still broken, despite it also working on the PTR. So again, there are no technical limitations, no coding problems, why wasn't it in the patch and why is there no hotfix for something you already have done?

So what is the difference between damage issues being hotfixed within hours but issues concerning healers (OK, just priests since those are the ones I am most familiar with) are left by the wayside, yet again? Is it because we've managed to make do so far and fixing it might only make things easier for us? Nah, couldn't be that, but come on, it worked on the PTR, you hotfix issues for DPS within hours, but we cannot get a working talent or spell?

Edit for poor grammar and being in a rush to catch the bus

Q u o t e:
I have a feeling that what went wrong with these fixes is that the beta realm is not 100% the same as the live. Different changes might not have gone to live and then not fully removed from beta or vice-versa. The reason I bring this up is it would explain why the coding worked on Beta, but not live.

If this is the case, then it will take them a bit longer to refix the problem because first they will have to figure out what coding on beta is not also on live that is effecting the way the power is working.

This isn't 100% but it's pretty close.

We are hotfixing these -- the fix may be out already. We are looking into the PoM issue. Just after a patch we get a ton of reports that other players can't always reproduce. There are several "Hey, did my damage / healing go down from a stealth nerf?" posts. It's the Onyxia Deep Breathing phenomenon.

Sometimes the forums time out for me too. :(
