Banned for "Trade Scam"....

Today I received a 48 hour suspension for "Scamming" which apparently involved not fulfilling the agreements of a trade. Now I have already sent in an email to the appeal address, but I am wondering how I received this ban for a character that is a level 1 bank alt that I made 2 days ago that has never so much as opened a trade window with another player. I find this very frustrating as I received no clear explanation of what I've done, and the vague one is completely impossible. Thanks if any customer service reps can help shed some light on this.

Edit: To clarify, I have not been hacked, and NO ONE has access to my account other than myself.

I apologize for the confusion that may have been caused by the e-mail, Rompkin, I suppose simply stating that it was a trade scam against a "player" is a little vague. In most cases though it is assumed that you knew what you did, just from looking at your chat around the time of the incident it looks like you were very much aware of what you were doing since you talked to another about your actions.

This had nothing to do with some level one bank alt though or trade windows. It had everything to do with a level 80 character that you used, the name of the character is fairly apt for what you were attempting.

Good luck on your appeal, our Account Administration Department will look into the evidence of the case and see what can be done.

Q u o t e:
My only point is that I don't see how this is a BAN-ABLE offense, I even read the definition of scamming that blizzard provides, and taking things out of a guild bank doesn't fit into it from my understanding.

The offense wasn't ban-able, Rompkin, it was suspend-able. This really is not the place to dispute the charges though, the only place for that is our Account Administration Department. They are the only ones that can review the situation and either uphold or overturn the penalties.
