Credit Card Payment Problem

Yesterday night, I used my American Express card to pay $15 for a month of WoW. The transaction was a success. 10 minutes later, I began to buy the "upgrade" from Burning Crusade to Wrath in the online process. I used the EXACT same card and when I clicked submit, it said "Invalid Card Number". I ended my night there.

Now in the morning, I got an e-mail from American Express for "Possible Fraud Activity" over "01/14/09: $44, BLIZ WOW-ELEC UPGRADE". Now what was I ordered to do? I HAD to charge the card $44, or they were going to terminate my entire card. Not only that, I never even got my online upgrade, I'm still sitting on a Wrath 10-day trial. Help?

I believe there are two very distinct, yet related, issues here, Aima.

I cannot urge you enough to contact your Credit Card provider regarding your card; they'll be able to offer you more information regarding how you should go about this issue. Once you have spoken with your bank, I then encourage you to contact our Billing Department to see if they are able to offer further assistance when it comes to the online upgrade process. They can be reached using one of the following numbers:
