100 mount achievement - unreasonable

I spent some time going over how many mounts there are in the game. First off, theres one unfairness straight away.

At 5 exalted cities, alliance get 3 extra purchaseable mounts than horde. Add in the wintersaber tiger, thats 4. But the rest of the post will be focussed on Horde.

First off! If you spend 50,000g (Cheapest possible with exalted discounts, price includes all mounts listed below), and are exalted with :

-5 capital cities
-Mag'har/Kurnei
-Netherwing
-Cenarion Expeidition
-Shatar Skyguard
-Sons of Hodir
-Wyrmrest Accord

And have obtained:

-all 4 colored AQ bug mounts
-the 5 pvp token mounts
-the 2 haala pvp mounts
-spent 12-15k on the mechano hog
-bought the 4 dalaran mounts (bear, tundra, badge mammoth, winderider (or gryphon)
-Killed all alliance/horde leaders for the black bear
-Bought all faction mounts, and flying mounts from shadowmoon valley
-Got the 50 mount achievement drake
-Got the violet drake from all the holiday achievements (not possible yet)
-Got the Bronze Drake from Strat (Added this since its easily farmable with some effort)

You will have obtained 80 total mounts. From ALL that hard work, you still need 20 mounts left for your 100 mount achievement!! Achievements, pvp, badges, 50,000g, a dozen reputations exalted. -80- mounts.

Now for the remaining 20, you have a choice of

-Spending thousands of real life dollars for TCG mounts and Blizzcon mount, and Refered a friend for the Zhevra totalling 8 mounts from the 20.
-You are an engineer, 2 mounts more
-You are a tailor, 2 mounts more
-You are alliance, 4 mounts more

Even if you are a TCG Card collector, went to blizzcon and are a tailor/engineer who is alliance (Unlikely at best), you have 15 mounts of 20. But realistically you may have 1 or 2 from this list.

You could be an Arena gladiator for all 4 seasons, 4 more mounts there!

OR You can have a lot of LUCK and gotten a lot of the 22 LUCK mounts
-ZG tiger & Raptor, Baron's horse, amani war bear, ashes of alar, attumens, raven from sethekk, white hawk from kael, headless horse, original brewfest mounts (blue and epic), brew kodo, blue proto from UP, green proto from oracles, time lost drake from SP or gotten the black grand mammoth from Vault of Arch, blue and azure drakes from malygos 10/25

OR you can be in the top 2% of raids in the world and gotten the SKILL mounts, and were LUCKY to win it: Drakes from 3 drake sath 10/25, and done all the heroic raid / heroic dungeon and non heroic raid achievements for your proto drakes.

If you have completed EVERY thing mentioned above, you will have 121 mounts, 117 if you are horde.

Now tell me, is this fair or reasonable? How can you justify having a 100 mount achievement?

TL;DR version - If you spend 50,000g, get 11 exalted reps, do heroic strat, kill all alliance leaders, get all 5 battleground mounts, 2 haala mounts, did heroics enough for 200 badges / 300 wintergrasp shards and did all the holiday achievements and farmed AQ for all 4 mounts, you would only be 80% of the way through this achievement, with 20 very hard to obtain mounts left,of which most players dont have -1- let alone 20.

This achievement needs to be brought down to 75 mounts, like the 100 pet achievement was lowered to 75.

Oh, we've been caught!

But yes, we like mounts and more will be added in the future making an achievement like mount collecting easier to obtain.

Before Wotlk dropped, I was BS/Eng and made one of the Flying machines to get the 50 mount achievement (Tauren FTL). When I dropped Engineering, the mount remained in my mount tab, but I was unable to ride it.

Is this intended? I'm considering leveling Engineering and Tailoring in order to obtain the 100 mount achievement, but don't want to do it if it's a bug and the mount "spell" should have been removed from my collection.

I believe it still requires the profession to use the mount, but if you count the number of mount "spells" in the tab and compare it to the number you see in the statistics section, it should be counting those mounts toward your total even if you can't use them. Similar to this, the bug mounts out of Ahn'Qiraj currently count toward the total number of mounts even if you can't use them anywhere else. It's possible we could make some changes to this but nothing is planned right now.
