Are warlocks just meeting stones now ?

We used to be the debuff class for PvE.
We used to be the anti spellcaster class in PvP (what with our felpuppy, spell resist (that mages stole) and anti magic shell (that DKs stole).

We used to be referred to as the cloth tanks, with our raid tank like life (was some fun situations i had back in classic with soul link and drain life).
We used excelled at duels, duels weren't important but it was something.

Seems we lost SOOO much in wotlk, and didn't see a single thing in return. We are now arguably (because this is a forum in which we seem to fight shaman for buffs) the most fragile class, what should be the new glass cannon (who eats his own life for mana to boot !) we don't match mages damage though.

We certainly don't kill casters anymore, mages inherited that roll, no longer caring about cast time reduction, spell interupt, and having mage armour.

When we lost our advantage over casters, we kept our vulnerability from melee and then it got worse with a reduction of health.

We are arguably the worst class for debuff/buffs now. With an outdated curse mechanic, if we don't go affliction then EVERY one of our buffs or debuffs is substandard, and in a 25 man raid, theres no reason to take someone for a sub standard buff/debuff. If we do buff (with pet) or debuff, it's a DPS loss.

So with curses out the window, pvp out the window, and more classes than not having pets now (hell several classes can have multiple pets out... MI+WE, ghoul + army, wolves + elemental). What are we ?

1 warlock to lug that meeting stone around that someone left out the front of the instance so people don't need to run back to the start ?

CoS and CoE was great, i understand your new system, but surely you could of used the opportunity to then make all our curses viable (same with new pet buffs). As it stands now all other caster DPS seems to bring at least 2 critical buffs and/or debuffs or more.

I know theoretically warlocks have a lot of POTENTIAL debuff/buffs. But the debuffs are underpowered AND cost DPS, the buffs are spec specific, destro = hp, aff = int/spr. demonic pact is demo only. As it stands Affliction is the only viable spec. destro brings nothing to the table, demo's one is subpar even though it's a 5 point talent. Aff can at least CoS if there is no boomkin/spriest. And i know it's certain specs with those and warlocks are a class, but ya really need to spec and sacrifice for our utility and those other classes specs also bring other debuffs/buffs to the table.

Demo suffers further because for some peculiar reason it's been dubbed our survival spec....despite warlocks going full destro with imp. succy and SL or haunt with felly and SL for PvP. This is cause it's all in the first 17 points. Meta isn't survival. This sounds like a PvP issue but it isn't..... it's a PvE issue. Demonologies damage is subpar, which is something our none utility based class can't afford. It is subpar because it has survival 9apaprently), survival that OTHER trees use. making the actual tree itself useless as anything but a sub tree. It's now not a PvE or a PvP tree.

There are many locks that argue that destros nether prot . and ranged aoe stun, and affs massive healing, snares and instant fear are both far better for survival then demo/meta. Raises another question though, why must we spec for the only snare we can get, and it's the worst? all the other dps classes have em, and most of the other classes if not all do to. Kinda is up there with our horrible agro system and only none pure dps class unable to leave combat.

My question is (to people that make up arena teams, or lead raids...or blizzard), what's the reason you bring a lock? and specifically what class would ya want / not want.
