Why the useless Apostrophes?

Mal' Ganis, Kael' Thas, Gul' Dan, Zul' Farrak, etc.

Malganis, Kaelthas, Guldan, Zulfarrak

What's the diff? See how I used that apostrophe in "what's"? Ya, that makes sense. For the names in wow though, it doesn't make much sense. Same pronunciation, practically same spelling, same everything really. Is it supposed to be like Spanish accent, to emphasis a syllable? If so, why not just use an accent instead? Basically, these names are supposed to be simple romanized forms of some unknown (or known) wow language right? Then why bother with the apostrophes?

w'ut?

Names are funny things and get spelled however they want to be spelled out. Mal'Ganis looks better than Malganis, so, yeah.
