Why new servers with underpopulated ones?

Why are there new servers created when there are still underpopulated ones? Malorne needs love too and has evaded yet another transfer. /cry

Many of the most highly-impacted realms at the moment are PvE. There are currently no PvE realms that are low population (Oceanic not included). Offering transfers to PvE realms only a few hundred players short of queues each night will not cut it, and offering transfers purely to PvP realms from PvE realms to alleviate queues is not going to work. This is why a new PvE realm was created.

I would like to see us offer more transfer options the next time around to further entice different players with different play styles, but the current transfer options were made available to lessen the severity of the queues for the highest population realms as quickly as possible. We do know there are several PvP realms that are a little too under populated and hope to make more of them destination realms for transfers in the future.

Any plans on doing some free Rp, or Rp-PvP free transfers?

I'd definitely like to and will be bringing this up with the appropriate parties. We looked carefully at all of the RP and RP-PvP realms, and it just wasn't viable this time around to create new realms of this type, nor were there any good candidates of this type for destination realms. I don't have any plans to share with you at the moment though.

Hey guys! Great news! There are 25 very highly populated servers that you can now transfer off for free! You guys can all go to Tortheldrin a low population server with a horde/alliance ration of 72.85%/27.15% ! That way if you're Alliance you can get rolled in all the world zones and if you're horde, there's no one to fight and raiding on Alliance city bosses are a daily occurrence! I'm so confused.....

edit: I was really excited about free char xfers and was going to suggest a guild wide xfer but there's no way I can talk them into doing it now. =(

I just checked the data for the last 7 days on Tortheldrin. The Alliance have outnumbered Horde consistently at just over a 2:1 ratio.

Edit: Okay, I was looking at the wrong realm. With that said, Horde outnumbered Alliance on average over the last 7 days at almost exactly a 2:1 ratio. Sorry about the mix up. It's still not nearly as bad as you suggested though. :)

I don't care one way or another, but the percentage he quoted was only 6% away from a 2:1 ratio.

Don't think that qualifies as "not nearly as bad", in fact given the vague nature of the numbers, his stats are probably right a decent percentage of the day.

Yea, I just had to throw in the actual ratio since I went all flat wrong on your face the first time around. :(
