GC: Why are fast weapons bad?

I know questions directed directly at the devs are frowned upon, but I"m hoping maybe GC or someone in the community can explain to me why the idea behind a class preferring fast weapons to slow weapons is a bad design choice in there opinion?

Specifically referring to their choice of a KM change, turning it into a PPM instead of just reducing the proc rate.

SO yeah....

Why is Fast/Fast considered a bad mechanic? Especially given the large number of fast one handed weapons again

And this prompts a second question

Why was the option of effectively redesigning the entire spec considered a better option than simply nerfing it's output and scaling to more viable values ? ( Don't want to rant, but it kind of sucks that a lot of the gear I've been collecting is now relateively .... crappy )

Fast weapons aren't bad. DKs with a certain DW build were favoring fast weapons at the expense of everything else in order to trigger procs. We were concerned that the "right way" to play a DK would be to always DW with two fast weapons. Weapon speed should not be the only, or probably even the major factor when looking at gear. That should be an option but it was headed for being the only option.
