I have some concerns regarding Andorhal's stability, it's been crashing a lot and seems to have become more frequent. I have only been recently keeping track of all the random crashes. These are the dates and times i have so far, can we get this issue address?

Crashes
12/30/08 11:00 AM
12/31/08 3:00 AM
12/31/08 10:37 AM

I will keep a running log as I play and will update this post as it crashes.

Thanks.

Edit: The times i am posting is all Mountain Time Zone

Thank you all for bringing this to our attention. I am currently having this issue looked into by our Realm Technicians. Should any additional information become available, I'll be sure to update you all as soon as possible. As always, please be sure to let me know if you experience any issues which you feel to be related to this issue.

I appreciate your patience and understanding, everyone.

Hey there, folks.

It looks as if the most recent period of downtime was a result of an issue that arose shortly after the realm was restarted. We believe that this issue has since been resolved and is not a sign of any lasting issues. I will, however, keep an eye on this issue and let the appropriate parties know of any other issues that arise.

We do our jobs, Ingemur, that doesn't include working on realm issues. Game Masters are not Technicians.

We can not investigate or resolve these issues. What we can do it moderate the forum and address issues where someone is obviously trolling. So please, stop.

Q u o t e:
It's not your job to run issues that you can't handle up the chain to be fixed?

My job is to moderate these forums and to address questions about in-game issues.

So no, my job is not to pass things up the chain, it's not even a chain, this isn't something the Game Master Department addresses.

Our Technicians already know about the issue, they don't need us telling them that there is one.

I understand the frustration that these issues cause, Ingemur, I do. As we have stated before our technicians are investigating these issues and are working on resolutions so that everyone can play with as much stability and as little latency as possible.

If we receive information that we can pass on, we will. Snarky posts insulting us or other members of our staff will not speed things up, it will have the opposite effect.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Yes that's what we need another blizz fanboi to come to their rescue, when someone has a legitimate complaint.

No one is dismissing your frustration, Sicher, but the "fanboi" as you say is trying to educate you on what the Game Masters in this forum do.

If you have an issue with how I do my job you are welcome to write to [email protected].

I'd prefer it if you write about the issues you have with my actual job and not the one that people keep assuming we have, that of part time technician, developer, programmer, billing rep. :)

Edit:
Q u o t e:
How about also easing our frustration and offering free xfers off this realm if issues aren't resolved by x date?

Not something that we have any information on, Sicher, I'm sorry. If transfers are offered they will be announced on the General Forums. If you wish to request Free Character Moves be made available for your realm you'd need to post in our Suggestion Forums.
Q u o t e:

Then tell us who we need to be talking to every time our server goes down. I?f you cannot do what we ask you to do then why not send us to who can instead of letting these posts continue to be made and ignored for 3 months?

You don't need to speak with anyone, Ingemur, the issues are known. There isn't a contact point for our Technicians, I'm sorry but there isn't.

Your issues haven't been ignored, it some times takes awhile to track down issues and some time to implement lasting resolutions.

The only point of contact available if you would like to see changes made is our Suggestion Forums. Our developers and policy makers read the forum frequently, and take into consideration all suggestions, even if they are unable to directly reply to them.

That feedback email address will be a lot easier than being put on hold on the phone, thanks.

Being professional now doesn't change the sarcastic remark you made to Vapula or the fact that every off topic thread gets blue posts.

The phone number you would have called, Ingemur, would have been to our Billing Department or our Technical Support Department so I'm glad I saved you some time on hold.

Pointing out the obvious is sometimes considered sarcasm. I'm sorry, Ingemur, I'm blunt, I'm honest and I don't do flowery paragraphs that lead you down a merry path of empty words. If you don't like it you are welcome to let my supervisors know.

Good luck to you.

I never said I had a problem with how you are doing your job, I have but one concern, that is the stability of the realm that I pay money to play on.

That is a concern we share, Sicher, hopefully they'll be able to track down what the issue is and keep it from happening again.

That shouldn't be too hard. Like I said, especially with all the off topic banter, actual issues and questions should be acknowledged. it's obvious that it's not that they are too busy.

Off topic banter, takes moments to type and takes absolutely no research. I don't have to send out an e-mail to see if I can get an update, I don't have to wait for an e-mail before I type up the response.

As Jeian said, we have stated that we are aware of the issue. Updates are only as good until someone else wants and update then it is as if nothing was ever said. I do understand your point though, Ingemur.

In addition to answering whatever questions about in-game issues we can, these forums are also here to promote a sense of community between the player base and the Game Master Department. To that end, we allow the players who frequent this forum one thread to discuss off topic/general subjects. Anyone can jump into that thread as long as they remain civil and do not cause a disruption.

When you log on click the button to change realm, yes all the other servers were up.

When a realm or continent goes down, it doesn't always register on the selection screen.

The realm should be recovering now but our Technicians are still monitoring it and will make what adjustments they can.

I opened a ticket to see if I can get a free move... let's see

The Game Master Department does not determine which realms receive Free Character Moves nor can they grant you a transfer, Hosermage.

I apologize for not having any updates for awhile, folks, our technicians continue to investigate the issue and have made some adjustments over the last few weeks but the overall cause of the realm going down periodically continues to elude.

I hope to hear back from them in the next day or so with an additional update. I can't promise it will be anything substantial but I will let you all know.

Wasn't on much today, but reportedly 24hrs without DC's.

Going for the record tomorrow... (45/ Hours between crashes!)

If there are anymore, by all means let us know immediately.

Things should be much better since last Tuesday's maintenance, at least that was the plan :)

It looks like the issue has been resolved and our technicians will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the realm remains stable.

The overall issue that Andorhal had been experiencing was resolved a few weeks back so I'm going to be locking this thread so any new issues are not confused with this one. Thank you all for your patience.
