How come you can't converse with GC?

GC...you give one response to threads and that's it. Why?

I understand that there are a ton of people out there that feel it necessary to post their input (sadly 99% of them are unintelligible) But why can't you lock threads and only allow the OP to converse back and forth with you if they actually have something noteworthy for you to talk about? Maybe this happens behind the scenes somehow but I get really tired of seeing one post from you that sometimes seems cryptic or unanswered.

My latest example is about the healing in PVP. You gave the example that you feel that things may lvl out once healers get some RES, however, posters ask you very good questions that have gone unanswered. Like how am I supposed to get PVP gear if it takes arena rating to obtain it? Or as a healer am I supposed to raise my rating as DPS to help my team but pick up healing gear then make my switch?

There is a very immediate problem that you say overtime may work itself out however it seems like you haven't thought about how long it will take to do so. If you say that you can't find a healer to survive 1 single target DPS, don't you think this is something that needs immediate action? Why make healers lvl as DPS? How much RES do you think is going to make a difference 200? 300? 600? You reference RES cap....do you know how long that will take to get to especially since there are arena pts required for every piece of PVP gear?

Yes, Sonorous sums it up well.

Even if you boil it down to just the 200 most intelligent, best-spoken players whol truly get the issues and can pick apart our arguments, that is still 200 people trying to have a detailed conversation with relatively few of us (and in many cases just me). It's just not that good a medium. But it is still important to us to gather the feedback, so we soldier on anyway.

This is why I try and encourage players to spend their efforts talking to other players and let Blizzard be the fly on the wall most of the time. When too many people expect direct responses from us, and particularly if they expect us to return again and again to respond to their responses to our original responses, they are just going to end up being disappointed. :(

But if I don't say it enough, we greatly, greatly appreciate the feedback and the fact that you take time to post here at all.

There are plenty of people who serve as a bridge between Blizzard and the player community. You see a several of them posting and a lot of them work behind the scenes. They do an awful lot of work here and don't always get enough credit.

I am here because I understand the value of the direct communication (or as direct as leaving messages for each other can be). I also remember what it was like to be on the other side, wondering what the designer's intent was. This is just a voluntary gig for me. I have spoken to a lot of players though, and they seem to appreciate it, so I try and find the time to carve off to do it.

Make no mistake -- many people at Blizzard read these forums. They just aren't all as prolific at posting as I am. As a result, they are likely a good deal more sane.
