EDIT 2: The following was my OP, but I've since realized that Cat Swipe is probably a good way to go. Read through the posts until at least Post #10.

Q u o t e:
Druid – we are adding Swipe (Cat) as a baseline ability.

GC's post stated that the intention is to give classes without much AE ability exactly that.

Some questions I have with regard to this change: Why give Kitty Druids an exact replica of a bear form ability? Why can't the Druid just switch into bear form and then swipe away?

It doesn't seem like Kitty Druids are really getting anything that they didn't already have except the convenience of saving one GCD on a form change. Not only that, I think I'd rather be in bear form to AE in case I draw aggro.

Personally, I'm totally fine with Bear Druids having the only AE ability. If you want to buff Feral Druid AE, why not just add a damage buff to Swipe on one of our current talents, or give us some sort of passive AE ability? The passive AE ability is really what Bears need anyway to move them away from a simple Swipe spam when AE tanking.

Dolomite's answer was the main concern.
