Care to take a minute to clarify what the intention of the Improved Water Shield nerf is and what the intended effect is?

It seems the obvious answer to this question is that Shaman were stacking crit% way too much and were becomming OP as far as mana regen was concerned.

Other theories I've heard include concern that Shaman were totally abandoning HW since LHW was so much more efficient with glyphs, crit.

It would be nice to have a blue post to refer to and put people's minds at ease. Hopefully you didn't start your Christmas vacation yet and can respond.

Thanks!

EDIT: I read one of your posts. After reading, it sounds like the intent might be to push healers farther into their niches.

That generates another question. HOW far into their niche? I'm sure the intentions of the devs are good, but speculation and not-knowing undoubtedly leads to thinking the worst is occuring. It's human nature.

This was the issue. It wasn't a healer niche problem at all. Shamans were just abandoning Healing Wave to cast Lesser Healing Wave since it was more efficient for procing Improved Water Shield, which felt weird.
