Is it a pain to use or is it fairly easy to use. Do you have to enter a code each time you log on ?

A friend of mine's account got hacked, a couple of friends actually and i'm considering getting the authenticator.

Thanks

I use one. I've gotten very used to it and do not think twice about the extra step. The only time I've run into a kerfuffle with the authenticator is when I valet park my hummer back at the mansion and forget to take it off my key chain made of human ears. Boy that's embarrassing to have to take my segway all the way back to the east wing near the servant's quarters.

I have one as well that I use. At first it was easy to forget to have it with me when I sat at the computer (I had it on my keychain for a bit), but now it's hard to forget that I need it if I want to login and play.

Have one of them bring you your keys? I mean, what are you paying them for?

/cast Death Grip

I tried calling the valet booth but no one's picking up. It's like they're missing ears or something.

How do you get back in if it breaks? I'm thinking about getting one, but worried about not being able to play if it goes bad. How reliable are they?

They're extremely reliable. Once the authenticator is tied to your account using the serial number on the back, it will use an algorithm to ensure the number always matches. On very few occasions you might enter a number that will come up as invalid. This is because the code refreshes itself fairly frequently. If you happen to enter a number just before it expires, it will come up as invalid. All you have to do is log in again, press the authenticator button again, and enter a new code.

My vote for best GM post ever. :)

You wouldn't think so if it were YOUR ears he had on his keychain. (also CM not GM)
