I particularly have a question about the statement:

This doesn't make sense. If there are rogues with bad gear in the WWS averages, there were also people with bad gear of EVERY other class also. Same for bad players. Are you implying that for some strange reason, in all those reports there was an overwhelmingly high number of bad rogues in bad gear compared to all the other classes (read:pures)?

Isn't that just like what all the trolls were saying last season? "Hunters are low in representation b/c they are all bad..." An average is an average and it shows something is wrong. Maybe warlock and rogue rotations are too difficult compared to Hunters (read:one button wonders) and Warriors (read:whack the proc) Or the gear availability is unfavorably skewed?

Preparation

My second question is, (and I am not implying anything here. I honestly just want to know why) Why is preparation on such a long CD? Is it b/c we don't get a debuff like mages do when they iceblock? I ask this b/c Subtlety damage is bad. Subtlety pvp is bad. Mutilate damage is great. Mutilate pvp is great...

I am aware, you can reduce the CD of prep... Deep in the tree. But for what it does, it seems like a 6 minute cd with a 3 minute CD talented. I mean, there was a glyph that did that when the patch first hit.

Cold snap and readiness provide DPS upgrades. In fact the highest damage hunter build has readiness. (50.21.0) Given that prep has been gutted of any dps abilities, and has had many moves removed from its tooltip, (it even used to do kidney shot) what is the purpose of a ten minute CD. Hunters can reset Rapid Fire but you nerfed it when we could reset Adrenaline Rush? And the thing that baffles me most is that it does not reset the CD on the 51 point talent of the tree that its in.

If even combat is better for pvp and damage than the sub tree, is prep really that great on a 10 minute CD? What is the Sub tree for if I cant get behind the person to backstab because I need cooldowns to do any damage? Is what we can do with Prep as good as double Beast Within, Rapid Fire, Wyvern Sting, Scatter Shot, Ice Block, Water elemental?

Like I said, I'm not saying "reduce the CD now!!!" as I said I just want to know what you feel about the nerfs the tree has received (hemo, shadowstep) and if Prep still needs the long CD anymore.

Hate to say this but Blizzard shouldn't even pay attention to any other class other than the Priests right now. Go pvp with your Rogue and have fun. Hell go two shot a Priest that has way better gear than you. =P

My point was more that we care about stats an awful lot -- they are one of our most powerful tools in making balance adjustments.

But...

You can't make them into more than they are. They are a tool in your box, not the only thing that matters. You can't let the incoming numbers alone dictate changes. Anything from current bugs to errors in reporting tools to players selectively removing data in order to make a point can get in the way of the numbers reflecting reality.

There was a post yesterday showing a druid doing 11,000 dps or something on Patch and a rogue posted that as an illustration that rogues need a buff. Um....
