Skipping 10 Man to go to 25 man

Title says it all, posting on an alt cuz I'm kind of at arms with my guild over this. But here I am gearing in heroics, getting my gear set up as much as possible for 10man Naxx when I suddenly see a posting on the calendar for 25man in January.

Great, I think. They are so confident that they will have their 10man gear by Jan that they already posted a date for it. That is until I noticed there IS no posting for 10man Naxx anywhere. Not one.

I ask what is up and I suddenly get told that 10man isn't that important, and that our focus should be in the 25man. Basically we're left on our own devices to get 10man gear, and they will run 10mans kind like people ran Kara, whenever, etc.

Is this going to work? Is 10man really that skippable where a bunch of 80's in scattered heroic, badge and maybe 1-2 10man naxx items going to have the gear for 25man? This sounds like epic fail to me. Am I just overreacting?

The epic heroic pieces are the same quality, yes, just keep in mind that the 10person Naxxramas has a LOT of gear in it which can be a big help to a raid.
