The not getting saved part is due to a D/C... it seems that these files are only written/committed on a clean exit, not periodically.

Logging out, back to the character selection screen, should be enough to get them to stick.

As others have said, You can copy the macro-cache.txt and the bindings-cache.wtf files over from your live folders -- just make sure to copy them into the correct new folders on the beta directory.

I just wanted to point this out as being correct, a lot of config settings aren't saved properly if you exit the client by crashing or by the server going down. I've found it very helpful in a beta setting like this to setup things as I want them (keybinds, certain interface option settings, etc) and then immediately logging all the way to make sure everything got saved properly. Not something you'll need to worry about on live, but just a good tip when testing something in a volatile test environment.
