So this just came in:
------------------------------------------
Congratulations, you've been selected to participate in the beta test of World of Warcraft®: Warlords of Draenor™!

You can download the client now! Be ready to log in to the game from Friday, June 27, at 2:00 PM PDT, when new content will be available to play.

As a beta test participant, you'll experience the new content and features of Warlords of Draenor before the expansion is released. Over the course of testing, you’ll venture through the Dark Portal, establish your Garrison, and fight back against the Iron Horde!

While you prepare to embark on your journey, keep in mind that Warlords of Draenor is still in development, and additional content and features will be made available throughout the beta testing process. For an overview of what’s currently available in this phase of beta testing, head to our beta forums.

Feel free to share screenshots and video of your adventures and to discuss your experiences publicly. And remember, your feedback will directly impact the quality of the final game —our developers are standing by!

It is legit (verified via account management), but from browsing here I couldn't find a quick answer to if they're just using beta when it really is alpha, or if this is a new thing. Obviously I can post here now, but my Battle.net management page has a link for Beta Character Copy and I have a button for downloading the Beta Game Installer. Just looking for clarification to what I actually have here, since I was not expecting beta given the current state of alpha.

Beta is beginning, and invites are on their way out. Realms will be up at about 2:00 pm PDT. Recommend checking your account management as it will take a while to send all of the emails. Formal announcements to be posted in the morning.

Also, as always, please be wary of attempts to obtain your account credentials through falsified invites. The safest way to see if you have an invite is ignore all links in an email, go directly to http://www.battle.net , log into your account, and look for a Warlords of Draenor Alpha/Beta license. Alternatively check the dropdown on the Battle.net app above the Play button. Note that the app can sometimes take a while to show that you have access.
