Why are you taking away all the things that make up 30% of my game fun. One reason I created a WoW account in the first place was to be able to configure my stats accordingly. I am uneasy continuing into this xpac because our rights to customize our experience is being slowly dismembered from our virtual realities. I was an avid Morrowind player before WoW and now the demon inside me wants more again now that this is going away... i just don't know if I can keep my conversion from taking over to another mmo. :( I have friends here, I like Azeroth, but the hands on gameplay aspect feels to be slowly fading.

No gems?

No reforge?

Why? /plays the smallest violin in Azeroth while applied with Noggenfogger Elixer.

Not sure where you got that info from but gems aren't going away.

With regards to Reforging, there wasn't actually that much freedom to customize. As soon as you got a new piece of gear, you go look up how you were supposed to reforge an item (and in some cases, reforge a whole bunch of items because the new item gave a bonus to a different secondary stat) via an online guide or tool that had already determined the optimal choice.

For a more in-depth explanation for some of the changes I've linked to the relevant sections in the Warlords Alpha Patch Notes.

I am not sure where you are getting your info about my gaming history, but I am smart enough to figure these things out on my own, without an online guide to show me. And that is why I created this post, because as an avid gamer, stat configuring is what drives/thrills me when competing with other stat brainiacs. One of the reasons I created a WoW account in the first place was so I could tinker my own way around the stats. And this reforge nerf thing makes me feel like a piece of my game is being taken away.

You'll continue to be able to fine tune a character by evaluating primary/secondary stat weights, and modify them via gear, gems, and/or item enhancements.
