Warlock Arena Issues 2

- We are absolutely required to have soul link to be viable in high end arenas, yet there has been very little done to help against the "tunnel vision the pet twice, tunnel vision the warlock" strategy that is used.

-Demonic Teleport is really only useful if you are able to use it to break LoS, otherwise most of the classes you need to use it to get away from are right back on you, and they are always moving faster than you are.

-Demon Armor is currently designed towards being our PvP armor, but is not strong enough for PvP. With it up we have around the same mitigation that we had from armor at 70, it provides no extra mitigation from what we already had, we just now lose it if we decide to take Fel Armor for more burst.

-Mage armor counters us WAY too hard

-Lack of burst and relatively forgiving penalty on UA makes our job against cleanser as aff entirely too hard

-Between multiple cooldowns like AMS, Icebound Fort, a kick plus a ranged slience, and a pull me into the melee train choo choo, Death Knights feel like a class designed around taking rogues and making them designed even more specifically to kill warlocks, with the addition of a long duration fear immune, among other goodies.

-Fire and Brimstone has sucked ever since it was implemented, and still does.

-A relatively medium speed equalizer would go along way to helping the melee problem (either a freedom like effect, or a heavy slowing/rooting effect)

-Changing shadow embrace to all healing would help Aff versus healers/spam cleanse

-EASIER PET MANAGEMENT/SWAPPING A LA FEL DOM WAS PROMISED, NEVER SEEN

Q u o t e:
I think the fact that the Part 1 Lock arena issues thread capped speaks volumes about our situation

Look, if I started a thread called "Who likes gin?" I could probably get it to 2000 posts. Don't confuse post volume with there being a problem. Even a 2000 post thread is a very tiny sample size, which ignores the fact that many are repeat posters and many posters will inevitably just not have a clear grasp of the issue. I am not talking at all about the specific issues of warlocks at all with this response. But if we are going to continue to kick off large topic discussion threads, the community would do itself a huge service to stop confusing quantity of response with quality of response and passion with comprehension.

Q u o t e:
Yes, it did. They surely opened a can of worms posting that. Which now, based off of what we've seen on beta forums, will be completely and utterly ignored.

Thank's Blizzard, thanks.

We were sort of on the fence about making any warlock changes. But you have totally convinced us with this one post. Well played. I'm sure this will be a lesson to other classes about the type of feedback we're looking for. :)

We're trying to help here. Posts like this really accomplish nothing except wasting someone's time to delete the post (and ban you). Intelligent discussion. If you are clever enough to understand the nuance of your class mechanics, you are intelligent enough to discuss them. I'm sure you can find another place on the Internet for your Blizzard bashing.

To all the warlocks who did explain their issues intelligently and concisely, we thank you.

EDIT: Apparently my attempts at sarcasm failed. I realize there are many people who don't speak US English as their first language and others who just misunderstood my intent. I call out posts like this from time to time in a noble if futile attempt to try and make these forums a better place. Flaming Blizzard may make you feel good but it really doesn't accomplish what you think it does. If anything it risks driving away players who want to discuss the issues but have a low tolerance for nonsense to other forums out there. While there are many good forums out there, I don't post in them. :( Let's try to keep the good posters in these forums as well.

GC, if you are reading this, please bite the bullet and go to Arena Junkies and lets get some discussions going over there.

Unless of course you just want to see thousands of ignorant players twisting your words and using them to justify lashing out in anger in order to comfort their sad lives.

I read all of the major WoW-related forums and news sites out there. These are our official forums though and the only place you're really going to get responses from me, other devs, or our fine community managers. If lashing out in anger makes players feel better, that's cool. It doesn't really bother me, but we don't want to waste the time of other players forcing them to read it here.
