So why didn't DKs get a profession boost?

One of the truly boggling things about Death Knights is how Blizzard approached their professions. Conveniently, you are given a free 275 First Aid skill, a handy thing for both PvE and PvP. Yet when attempting to learn a different profession, you have to start from 1. So apparently, you are expected to either A) Take a significant amount of time out of leveling through Outland to grind up a bunch of useless items or B) Not take a profession at all.

So what is the justification for this?

The Lich King trains his minions for war, not for crafting and hobbies.

Shouldn't you be swabbing a deck?

You can knit more mop-heads in your free time.
