Stop Appealing to Casuals

Playing from VWOW to now I've seen this game take a turn for the dumps. Blizzard, stop appealing to the casuals just to make a profit, make this game a game again. I can literally roll my face on the keyboard and take away epics. I want to die, and not just from OP classes in PvP, but from PvE content... I want to wipe, I want to actually have a challenge like I did trying to progress through BWL so many years ago.

As it stands, a brainless chimpanzee could play this game and complete all the PvE content.

That is all.

That's an over-simplification, I'd reckon. There are, and always will be, aspects of this game that appeal to very different gaming styles. That's a good thing. Exposing more people to the MMO market is good for a business we believe is about providing people with entertainment that isn't just passive, while providing a system for social networking.

I hope you don't mean such things are measured solely based on difficulty. I would assume a game would primarily be something fun and engaging that exercises the body or mind. I've had a lot of fun in this expansion and met a couple of challenges along the way.

"Literal" definitely doesn't mean what you think it means.

It looks like your highest level is 72, unless the armory hasn't updated properly. Come back to me when you hit 80 and clear all the currently available raid content. If you say you never died due to player error, a challenge, or just dumb luck, I'll hope there are logs for verifying this.

I'm quite sure you'd find a strong argument against you from the medical community. I can't think of a mammal that exists that can function without such a vital organ. In case you were exaggerating and really meant to say an unintelligent chimpanzee could complete all PvE content, I want proof. The chimpanzee market could be HUGE.

Touche sir, but you seem to fall victim to the internet. Where if you heard me in real life, you'd understand how much sarcasam went into my post.

I guess I have been victimized by the internet. It was just that you mentioned in a follow-up post that "it's the forums; people should post constructive criticism not useless ramblings." I found this troubling, as I re-read your comments about chimps and face rolling, and had to seriously question whether or not I have a good understanding of the difference between being constructive and hyperbolic. ;)

Q u o t e:
I don't need to be 80 to understand that this game has very little challenge left to it.

I wouldn't agree with you on this unless you're speaking in the most absolute of generalities. Through Northrend I've seen specific zones, quests, and instances that are of greater challenge than what I experienced in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. This is partially intentional.

For 5-man leveling dungeons in particular, the idea is to get you to see some more notable lore and characters, get great quest experience if you have dungeon quests, and get some good rewards to help you in the leveling process. The idea is not to put up brick walls and gear checks on leveling dungeons. So long as you know how your class is played and what your role in the group is, you should mostly be fine.

Speaking very generally, I do agree that I feel things are easier while leveling now than I did in WoW 1.0. With that said, on my main I've learned a lot about my class, had hundreds of hours experiencing my character in all facets of game play, and seen a lot of different encounters that help me when thinking on the fly. I also have much better gear than I've ever had before.

Q u o t e:
A game can be a game without a challenge, but then why include things that make your character stronger? Seems to me that you're confusing 2 different game types. One for fun and a challenge, and one for just pure brainless fun.

No?

No.

I lol'd at the irony of this...

That's not irony. We're also two different people. She's also not attempting to offer constructive criticism. While I'm here writing words though you might as well take issue with them. :)
