Blizzard is fine with the healer shortage

There is an incentive to have one aspect of the game have a gradient moving both for and against it, Low populations cause people to move into it and burnout and lack of interaction cause people to move out. It keeps players playing longer this way. Part of the motive here is that Healing is NOT a solo playstyle and thus a Huge portion of the masses are NOT healing spec. I mean come on, what would happen if my 41 and 51 point talents actually had ANY use outside of raids?

Exhibit A: Heroic Badges are NOT BoA.
If badges were BoA, healer would be much more happy to run the same old heroic they have run before because they can use those badges to gear out alts.
Conversely, DPS classes could gear out healer alts relatively easily if badges were BoA

Exhibit B: Holy Paladin DPS
Blizzard is going to fix it... after Holy Paladins are all leveled. My ShotR is a beautiful thing. I was so happy to get it at 75 and then to pick up http://www.wowhead.com/?item=38363 which is a 16 single target dps increase. The guildies laughed at me when i told them how good that was.. no other class would feel that way, but the libram's in game right now leave something to be desired. As holy doing dailies and grinding that is the best i can come by. If blizzard wanted more healers, they would have made playing holy paladins more desirable to level up.

Sure ultimately i question whether or not blizzard cares if it is hard to find a healer for a pug heroic. As long as the raiding guilds can pressure their players to heal, then there is a quasi-equilibrium. They might be counting on dual-spec to solve their problems, but honestly the solution to carry around a ret set of gear to be 'balanced' is not my idea of fun.
