Please forgive the title, it's a short character limit. Anyway, I am seriously suspicious of a few people in my guild being employees of some sort. I can't quite peg it, but there is just something about them that makes you go hmmm, I wonder...

Specifically, things like:
    - gets defensive about a class when someone criticizes that Bliz destroyed it
    - has an overwhelming understanding of a given class and its role
    - didn't participate in the "what state do you live in" thread on our guild website
    - say things in vent like "work just paged me, I have to go check on a server"... but just goes AFK instead of logging off.
    - there is now a town in Azeroth named after our guild... well, sorta
    - not to mention there are also a couple NPCs now named after guildies (won't mention names, but one is in Dalaran)
    - an achievement was named after something that my guild has specifically teased me about for at least a year... seriously, I never hear the end of it in gchat about that achievement

Anyway, I can go on, but anyone else suspicious? I can't be alone in this. Don't name names, I'd rather they keep their anonymity. All those I am suspicious of are guildies I really like and respect and I'd hate for them to be compromised. But put on your tinfoil hat and list off some things that make you wonder if one could be hiding in your guild.

I haven't had any issues with anyone accusing me of being an employee. I tend to just play the same as anyone, help where I can and blend in. :)

There's nothing to worry about IF a Blizzard employee is in your guild. We use our game time to help us better understand the dynamics of the game from within guilds and outside of them and just pay more attention to what people are saying and doing (how they are playing) so we can better improve upon the game.

Even while not working...you are working.

Yes and no. It's fun for us too. ;) But it's awfully convenient to be doing something you enjoy and still be able to keep tabs on possible issues in game too.

I would TOTALLY be able to spot Neth in my guild. She would be the one never committing on anything

GM: So what dungeon do you guys wanna run
NETHALT: They are ALL fantastic. ;)
GM: Yeah but which one do you want to run?
NETHALT: Some dungeons are good for some people while others find it not as good. :)
GM: But which one do YOU want to do? You're starting to make me angry!!!
NETHALT: I understand your concern right now but please keep in mind that your wants may not be shared with those of us making the decision. ;)
GM: ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE A DECISION??!?!?!
NETHALT: Please be patient. :)
GM: I HAVE BEEN WHICH DO YOU LIKE THE BEST.
NETHALT: I would hate to answer that because it may be construed that I am favoring one over another. ;)

NETHALT has been kicked from the guild

Psst... I don't need to be neutral on sharing opinion when not in an official capacity.

Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. David Keith.

Best. Fight. Scene. EVER.

I just watched this scene. I gotta say I'd just put on the glasses.

Well, setting aside all creepy hidden agenda tinfoilhat theories, what would a Blizz employee be looking for when they are thinking of joining a guild? Will they want to join a guild that does heavy raiding? Or one that has a very relaxed raiding schedule and doesn't push people on individual quests to join in guild activities? Will they look for a twink guild, or a regular PVP guild? Do they want to totally pwn the endgame, or do they want to gather every recipe known to man for tailoring and be a cloth-god? Would a Blizz employee have multiple alts for storing trade goods? Would a Blizz employee horde gold like so many of us? I'm sure lots of Blues would like to gather every achievement in the game, just cuz it's cool.

hmmm....

All of the above? We all play differently, the same as anyone else. ;) I have belonged to very few guilds in my gaming lifetime and generally look for the same things anyone else does: people I get along with, can depend on, a healthy appetite for PvP, and a "why not? We can do this!" sort of attitude when it comes to taking on the the various dungeons.

I bet some blizz ppl are real jerks in the game to blow off steam for all the "official" neutral responses they have to give from work. I wonder if one has ever been reported.

Not I. We're held to the same rules within the game as anyone else.
