Blizzard Authenticator Question

Sorry that i put Blizzard in the Subject but that is the name of it if i am not mistaken.

My questions are how does it work? I just ordered one and curious of you experiences with it.

Do i need to have it with me while i am at work just to log onto the forums?

How safe is it from keeping others out?

How long does it last and if broken or lost how do you log onto your account without it?

We also did an interview for WoW insider that goes into more about the security of it since there was some information circulating about it that wasn't accurate.
