Sojo, I asked you a question that you never responded to. In fact, the response you provided indicated that you felt as though I totally dismissed your concerns and nothing could be further from the truth. If you are truly concerned about this, and not merely stirring up ill will, then I'd appreciate an answer:
Q u o t e:
It is possible that one of the Unworthy Initiates could be doing unusual amounts of damage or something of that nature though. Do you happen recall what 'kind' of Unworthy Initiate you challenged? There are representatives of several races chained below Instructor Razuvious, and awaiting the hunger of new Death Knights.
It is important to me that we investigate the validity of your concerns. I would like to point out that in my off time, I am currently leveling a Death Knight. The starting are below Acherus is packed with players that have successfully completed this quest, so this is clearly not an issue that is affecting every player.
This being the case, I would prefer that you not give up on the class entirely, and I'd like to help you get the most out of it. If there's an issue, I want to know about it.
It's also worth mentioning that your starting abilities are '1 rune' abilities. You can use each twice, and build up a substantial bit of damage and runic power quickly. I'm not in a position to be specific, but there are rotations you can do with your abilities which enhance your chances of successfully defeating your foes.
Finally, comparisons between a starting Death Knight, and a beginning character of another class aren't necessarily valid. The Death Knight is a hero class, and represents a greater challenge. After all, you are picking up a character class at level 55, and facing powerful foes of the same level. Thus, the learning curve is substantially different and aimed at more experienced players.
