Online Account Upgrade -> Collectors Edition?

Hello, a quick question concerning the upline Wotlk upgrade and the CE: I already read the FAQ so I know for a fact that you cannot directly upgrade to a CE online because of the physical items included in the box. However, would it be possible to use the current online upgrade future and later upgrade it to a CE for the pet?

I ordered a CE online, but being that I live oversea's I've yet to receive my CE. It might probably another week or two. I really want to make my DK and catch up to my friends, but this long wait is driving my crazy. Would it be possible for me to upgrade my account online now, download the client, and later use my CE key to update and get the frost wyrm pet?

Indeed; this is most certainly possible. Please be aware, however, that this will exhaust your Collector's Edition key and make it unusable on other accounts.

I pretty much expected the CE key to expire upon using it on an account that has already been upgraded to Wotlk. I'm not that naive :) I'm just wondering if there's a way to go about this process that doesn't involve making international phone calls.
