Allowed to register Cataclysm early?

I just received my collector's edition from online pre-order, and was wondering if I am allowed to register the key now or do I have to wait for launch time? I fear they may see my early registration as a sign that I cheated to get the game early.

Also, the Lil' Deathwing pet, do all my characters get this? Or just one? I have never had any of these out of game vanity pets.
