RL preperation:

1. Computer with minimum system requirements (DVD drive)
2. WotLK expansion media
3. 20 pack of hot pockets from costco
4. 30 Pack of beer (optional)
5. 6 Pack of energy drinks (can sub some of the beer with sparks or tilt)
6. Tooth brush and tooth paste
7. Soap
8. Bowl of water (you don't want to waste your time going to the bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth)
9. Empty bowl or cup (for brushing your teeth)
11. Drinking water (all those beers and energy drinks can make you dehydrated)
12. A pillow (the bed is too far in case nothing else works and you absolutely need a nap)
13. Kleenex (Tis the seaon of the runny noses)
14. Tip: You can eat and drink at the same time

In game preperation:

1. Prepare your character (decide who will be your first char to 80, clear your quest log, save some money for repairs)
2. Clear your bags - only keep items you really need
3. Remember the following: Take all things in moderation, EVEN World of Warcraft.
4. Macro with /chcken and /lol emote (There will be a lot of ganking and corps camping going on - especially when you are in the middle of killing that one named guy for a quest and someone from the oppisite faction needs the guy, too)
5. Put all your alts in inns (Once WotLK comes out you will start getting rested XP)
6. Spec your character to DPS (Instances can easily be tanked and healed in DPS specs)
7. Get mods that have already been updated (http://wowui.worldofwar.net/?p=browse&x=wotlk&pg=1&sb=newrating&so=down - all mods that have been updated for wrath)

Anything else?

Real gamers use their keyboard for a pillow and like it! ;)

I think there have been some pretty reasonable lists made before that people have made in preparation for game launches. Generally, it's just important to use common sense and game responsibly.

Cold cuts are always a good option for make a quick sandwich too or for those that want something more substantial, crockpots can be your friend. Fruit is an easy and quick snack.

Drink plenty of liquids, remember to eat, and take breaks if you decide to do a long gaming session.

It's a marathon, not a sprint to 80 so please remember to enjoy the content that has been created and try not to zip by it so fast you miss out.

This thread really does a lot to defy all the negative stereotypes gamers are pegged with.

Good job, guys.

If you can't laugh at yourselves, who can you laugh at? (Aside from lolcatz)

The brownies sound really good. I don't remember the last time I ate one. Hrm.. Maybe I'll have to do some baking, though I already have plans to make some homemade granola bars to take the place of the normal same ol' same ol' breakfasts I've been having. Which is another good option, is to make or buy some granola bars to have on hand. It's healthier if you make them yourself too.
