Chain Heal Spam

This also isn't fun. The problem is, it's the only unique-ish heal we bring to raids... and without it, Resto shaman wouldn't have a raid spot.

In BC, I got to the point where between my haste gear and my mana regen, the best thing to do was cast a low ranked CH and not worry about my targets health. The next 2 bounces would heal someone, and I'd be casting the next heal 2 seconds later anyways.

If chain heal isn't 90% of shaman's healing, then we are doing something wrong. This does not mean it needs to be nerfed... it means that other things should be buffed.

A few simple ideas:
Earth Shield should auto-apply three stacks of healing way. This would make Shaman viable MT healers.
Take the cooldown off riptide
Give healing wave/lesser healing wave a chance to restore mana/rage or some other benefit

I understand that chain heal is our "main" healing spell... but chain heal spam isn't interesting or fun.

We definitely design some specs to have larger rotations than others. The styles just appeal to different kinds of players. But when a rotation is literally one spell, with perhaps a few cooldowns, that is a little too small.

We agree that the Resto shammy rotation is in a better place now. Chain Heal is still the main go-to spell, but there are enough other things to pay attention to that it won't be as boring. If you still find it too boring for your tastes, the Resto druid and Holy priest were designed to have more options for different situations.
