Can anyone at Blizzard explain the elimination of positional requirements of several abilities?

Positional requirements aren't being removed, they're being eased. And as others in the thread have already pointed out, you still can't facestab.

What you're looking for is a high skill-cap, which rogues will still have. What positional requirements do is raise the skill floor, which is irrelevant to top-tier players to begin with, and is nothing but frustrating to newer players, people who want to solo as sub, or players with high ping.
