PCT Update and Information Request

Morning, everyone—

At present, we believe (and hope) to have cleared the majority of pending PCT requests initiated within the last 20 days. With that said, we do not wish to close this issue should there still be cases outstanding or ones which require further, personal attention.

To ensure that we can resolve your issue wholly, please post here if your character remains locked at this time. Include the followig information:

    Type of transfer (realm-to-realm and/or account-to-account)
    Name and realm (source and destination) of the character
    Date your transaction was initiated


Please provide any further details you believe relevant, as well. The more information we have, the easier we can determine why your particular transfer remains affected at this time.

The "Invalid Credit Card" issue is actually in relation to the information you're entering; please make sure that the information you are entering is correct. You may also wish to try using the "Use Other Card" option near the end of the process and enter the same information again (ensuring that it's correct). Clearing your browser's Cache and Cookies may help as well.

Any pending transfers were canceled due to various issues, Cactuscastro.

Your transfer essentially didn't happen as it were. You're welcome to transfer it if you want.

It should not; there were some unfortunate issues that were being experienced previously which caused some transfers not to process correctly.

Everything should be good now. =)

Good morning, everyone.

I see that a number of you are receiving processing errors when you attempt to finalize your transaction. I understand that this is preventing you from completing the transfers, but the information we really need to know is whether or not your character is currently stuck within the transfer process.

If your character is inaccessible because you are unable to cancel your pending transfers, please be sure to make specific mention of this when posting.

While we look further into the processing errors a number of you are receiving, we request that you try the following workarounds to see if you are able to successfully finalize your Paid Character Transfers and Name Changes. We have received mixed reports that performing one (or all) of the following workarounds has allowed players to bypass this error message. Please try the following:


I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused you all and hope that one of the above methods allows you to complete the transfer. I’ll do what I can to gather more information to help those of you still unable to finalize your transfer.

Folks, this thread is for the pending PCT and PCNC issues that occurred between the 18th and 27th of October, only. If you are receiving an invalid credit card or some other error please try the steps that Aredek provided, if you continue to have an issue you'll need to contact our Billing Department directly.

You can call 1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD) Monday through Friday 8AM-8PM (PDT) for live representation.
Australian users should please call 1-800-041-378 if the standard 800 line does not work.

Never give anyone your account name and password, Balji. In the future, I'd ask that you do not jump into a thread that has nothing to do with your issue, please create a new thread instead.

As to answer your question, click on the tab at the bottom of the realm selection list, unless you speak Spanish and would rather be on one of our Latin realms you may want to try a US realm.

Still not transfered, not able to log in on either server as character does not show up anymore.

I wasn't able to confirm that your character was locked, Rauk, it seems to be on the realm but hasn't been playing in awhile. Before I send this information up can you try creating a new character on Greymane to see if that updates your character list?

Meryli shows up in Wind Runner, but I am unable to log in to her - I get a message saying the transfer is not completed yet


Have you visited the Transfer status page, Meryli? You need to finalize the transfer before you will be able to log the character in. If the character does not appear on the list to finalize please let me know and I'll add you to the list to have this issue resolved.

Have tried to finalise my credit card for a PCT, and keep getting directed to an 'error has occurred' page. Have tried a few times, so I'm hoping the card has not been charged multiple times. Please fix ASAP

If you visit the Transfer Status Page, Phun, do you have the option to finalize the transfer or is it not listed anymore? There are times when the charge request for a transfer is declined but the "pending" amount stays on the card for 3-5 business days.

Can you check for me and let me know what you see?

I am sorry, Ostian, the transfer system is under their purview, I can only recommend contacting them again and explaining in detail what errors you are receiving.

It sounds like after the charge request was made either our system declined it or your bank did. You'll need to contact Billing, the card likely wasn't charged but a "hold" was placed on the transfer fee. It should return to the card within 3-5 days. If it doesn't Billing should be able to assist you.

If the character is listed there you should be able to either attempt to finalize the transfer or cancel it. Since you have stated that you have been unable to finalize the transfer you'll need to contact our Billing Department, as I've already said, to see if they can help. Otherwise you can click the cancel button on the page that I linked earlier.

The character is now unlocked and playable but is still on the original account, not the destination account to which he was originally to be transfered.


Can you not initiate the transfer again, Celleste? Many pending transfers had to be cleared in order to resolve the "limbo" issue.

There are currently no issues with transfers. The information we have been requesting is for transfers and name changes that were initiated mostly from 10/18 to 10/27.
