(altho I still did some raiding up until shorlty after christmas)
After enduring several rounds of Walrock nerfs I found it so hard to stay alive in BGs, that I gave up. I quit the game. I was tired of it of being beaten with the nerf bat. I was tired of being owned by greenie rogues, I was tired of being 3 shotted by warriors, I was tired of watching heal classes heal through and dispell my dots like they were a warm summer breeze I was tired of having no viable escape mechanisms from other classes abilities, while every class had escape mechanisms from mine. I was convinced no developers actually PLAY Warlocks and they simply didn't care.
Over the summer I started to read a lot about WOTL. I started to get excited about the game again. My cousin and a friend both rolled characters on Lane. I decided to start over again with them. But what character class should I roll? I wanted a class with the ability to heal itself (warlocks self heal is weak since DL nerfs). I wanted a class that can take some damage, but also dish it out.
Can anyone guess what I rolled? Yes, a Ret Paladin. Got her to 70 in 5 weeks or so.
I have accepted that Warlocks are meant to be the "choice cut" Battle Ground fillet, for all classes. I know this because as a greenie Ret Pally for my few days in BGs, I found Warlocks the easiest to kill. As did my outlands greenie rogue friend, and outlands greenie shaman cousin. Oh how we love fighting warlocks teehee.
Anyways, what I didn't expect was to see the recently buffed Paladins to be the next ones nerfed into .. well a Nerf football. I'm afraid Nerf Pally's aren't goint to hurt any more either.
I am not arguing that Ret pally's did not need further nerfing, but I do wonder if Blizzard has overnerfed now, in favor of possibly undernerfing again.
I further wonder if Blizzard will keep as close an eye on this now, post nerf. It is easy to introduce sweeping nerfs when thousands of people are posting complaints about an OP class. Even easier when those people are CORRECT to be calling for ner!*@e.
It is not so easy to to get Blizzard's attention when your class becomes UP as a result, and the only people complaining are members of that class - as opposed to the entire community (who are now happy you are weak). And why wouldn't they.
I challenge you Blizzard, to address counter-balancing Paladins (should it prove necessary) as decisively and swiftly as you nerfed them. If Paladins go right back to the bottom of the heap again (or nearly) as a result of these changes, I want your word you will address them with the same fervor as you nerfed them. I don't want to feel swept under the rug again, like I did with my warlock.
Thanks,
Spazz/Yesa
