War optional; Plague not?

And I'm pretty sure historically no one got to 'opt out' of a plague because they didn't feel like "participating"

Notice that if we choose to play on a PvE server we can opt out of the war almost entirely. If I play on a PvP server, then I'm willingly choosing all the consequences.

We have been given no choice in this plague. Blizz once again empowers jerks and griefers, allowing them to dominate the game, much like they dominate these forums.

Not fun.

Good thing I pay month to month. One account already dormant. Blizz, you're indefinitely banned from some of my money. Hint, Blizz: This is the real plague? It is spreading, too.

PvP is persistent and part of the game. If you don't want to be succumbed to PvP while leveling at any time we can understand. The plague is not persistent and will not last long. I think it's a relevant distinction to make.

Three weeks isn't long?

That's a time frame you are assuming. I can't address a complaint based on a false assumption.

They are no longer players, just more Scourge. Do not feel pity, they feel none. Show no mercy, they will show none. Cut them down before they do the same.

This. Yes, you're fighting other players, but I'd say it's a misnomer to liken this unto true PvP. A zombie's only strength is in numbers.

Or vs very low level players. Which is apparently why zombies are either in sanctuary (shat) or sub-20 areas. Of course, making faster, stronger, cleanse-resistant zombies would just let them kill newbies faster, so you have a bit of a problem when you're buffing them up.

Don't stick your fingers in the cage if you don't want to be bitten.

How do we know you are not in kahoots with these "zombies" and feeding us false info. Huh? Mr Floating Skull.

My problem is I can no longer play the game as I choose during this "event". Wasn't that one of Blizzards big things.. allowing the player to choose how they want to play the game? Or is that another one of those things that changes at the convenience of Blizzard?

Anything can change if we feel it fits the storyline or makes for a fun, spontaneous experience.

They are told to stop complaining and suck it up.

Q u o t e:
People who write long insulting remarks about them full of vulgarities are not discouraged in any way.

The forum guidelines remain the same regardless of one's opinion. I've deleted plenty of threads and suspended plenty of people on both sides of the issue.

Q u o t e:
Blizzard refuses to give them any information as to when the not-fun-for-me will stop.

We'd like to see how things pan out since more is to come. We're sticking with that because we think it is a cool, temporary event.

Q u o t e:
Blizzard staff tell them that they're wrong to think this is in any way unfun and that they should love it and appreciate it.

I've read just about every blue post about the event since it started and feel your word choice and method of paraphrasing are poor, as this is not true.

Q u o t e:
Do you understand that it is possible for a person who is not you to genuinely not think this is the "fun" kind of spontenaity?

Yep. I said this last night.

Q u o t e:
Given that, can you see why people would be unhappy that a thing they consider essential to their fun is being taken away from them for an undisclosed period of time (and I've never seen a Blizzard rep deny claims that it's the next two weeks or so) and all they ever get told is "it's fun, you should like it"?

We never said you should like it. Again, the fact that your words are not chosen words carefully makes it difficult for me to address a question based on a false premise. We only asked that players give it a chance and try to have fun with it while it lasts. You will be able to return to your normal activities within days, not weeks.

Either way the event will play out as planned.

First off, to the moderator who claimed that calling this PVP is a misnomer, perhaps you need a dictionary, as PVP = player versus player, which is EXACTLY what this is.

Yes, but to make this point you were required to overlook exactly what I said. It is technically PvP. My point was that it's incorrect to say this is the same type of PvP players typically have the option of ignoring on PvE realms.

Q u o t e:
I do believe that this is simply a distraction to your inability to keep the servers up.

Events like this don't get planned over night. It's a convenient conspiracy theory.

3 weeks isn't long in the grand scheme of things, but it is almost a full month of paid subscription time where my playing experience is being significantly negatively impacted by griefers systematically zombifying every flight master and most major questgivers on my server.

I already addressed this in my follow-up posts to this thread. Please read them. :)

A level 70 Zombie seems to have enough strength to pretty much 1 shot the players they are attacking in starter areas. Doesn't take more then one to wreck any of the starter areas and stand at the creation point killing the new characters over and over while a GM tells them it working as intended!

I can't buy this. To be repeatedly killed by a high-level zombie you'd have to be running straight to them, wondering why you keep dying. I've seen plenty of low-level players nearby who didn't want to participate. They ran very quickly out of harm's way.
